Indeed it IS that easy. And if you are rooted a little app called SixAxis Controller lets you use the pad wirelessly AND to play touch screen games with the pad. All easily done.

Got myself an OTG USB cable for my Nexus, plugged in my PS3 controller and it just works. No rooting or fuck acting about with the device at all.

Shadowgun is excellent with it. Haven't tried it with anything else yet mind.
That sounds good, is it really that easy?

I would be tempted to actually game on it if I had a controller. Touchscreens and tilt are utter bollocks.
I got the cable off ebay for around a buck (bought two just for the hell of it and the shipping still cost more than the product).

You literally just plug it in and it works. There's also an app called Nexus Media Importer that lets you stream stuff from pen drives and whatnot.

Like DT says it is that easy. The games have to support it natively via wire but for those that dont., you can root and use it wirelessly and it emulates through its own input method. Very easy. I use it for my SNES and neogeo games

Might have to hitch a ride on this bandwagon then. Sounds good.

Official Nexus 10 cover is finally on the Play store, but it's 25 and only a fixed book style cover, no stand adjustment option. Rubbish. I've got a decent 3rd party one but it adds a reasonable bit of weight.

My brother in law had a 3rd party one like the smart cover, that seemed to work well.

It's funny seeing mowgli ranting about build quality of the Nexus 7 in the new iPad thread. I've had mine since November, dropped it a couple of times and had a couple of near misses, but my Nexus is still in pristine condition.

Is anyone else having issues with build quality then?

The missus has had hers since Christmas and it still looks brand new, despite my daughter practically monopolising it to play Dragonvale.

It seems he breaks anything which isn't an iPhone, or iPad. He borked his S2 as well, so I'm putting this purely down to shitty, sausage finger, user error.

Mines in perfectly good condition since Christmas, pretty much like new. I don't even use a cover.

Although the speakers on it a borked, in that if I play anything over 40% volume it makes an awful rattle/tinny noise. Still not sure if I can be arsed RMA-ing it 'cause I always use headphones.

Mine's perfect, well happy with it. Only a knob would shell out the extra for an iTwat.

I've had mine since Oct/Nov and it's survived beatings from my daughter and a couple of drops.

I dunno, maybe mowgli used his as a pillow or something.

For me, the build quality is far superior than the price point would suggest.

Had mine since Xmas and its good as new. Use it every day, take it places, dropped it. Nowt wrong with the build if you ask me. Not for 200 quid with a free case. Could afford two for iPad prices.

After using this for so long, I wouldn't want an iPad at all. Ever.

Looking forward to the new one soon, as it appears MrsBob wants to buy the new one and take my old Nexus.

I don't know why anyone would want to battle with a dumbed down tablet like the iPad. We've replaced all our iPads at work with N7s because its a lot easier to bung software on.

I'll probably buy the new Nexus - and wrap the fuck out of it. Because it is a great device. The build quality and hardware of an Apple product + the pure Android Nexus software = dream device.

My Asus Transformer is getting a bit flaky. So am looking at getting a Nexus 7. My wife has one and it's lovely.

But I think I'll wait and get the new one when it's announced. My wife has just got a Nexus 4 so I need something new to go one up. :)
