A lot of talk has gone into the heroes of numerous games. However, no one gives credit to the bad characters of a game. This is the baddest characters appreciation thread. Post some of the bad characters/bosses of a game that impressed you or scared you. Here's a quick Top 10 (in no particular order):

1)AM (I have no mouth and i must scream) A super computer, who turned bad and killed all humanity except for five people who he constantly tortured to kill the time. A bored bad character.

2)LeChuck (Monkey Island) Fat ghost pirate. Hated to death Guybrush Threepwood (hey, with such name) but was real hot for Elaine Marley. A funny bad guy.

3)Kane (Command & Conquer) The most ordinary human from the rest, he is incredibly ambitious and will do anything for power. His favorite motto, "He who controls the past, commands the future. He who commands the future, conquers the past". The human bad guy.

4)Guardian (Ultima) Who was he? No one knew. Some said he was created from the bad side of Avatar. Very impressive from his (old) era. The extra-dimensional sort of bad guy.

5)Diablo (Diablo) When the guy gets kicked out of Hell itself, what else can you say?

6)Kerrigan (Starcraft) Started as a good character but quickly turned to be an evil woman. The impersonation of hatred. Great voice and nice wings too.

7)FoxHound members (Metal Gear Solid) Actually this is not one character but a bunch of them headed by Liquid Snake. Snake himself was "not enough" lets say but together with Revolver Ocelot, Vulcan Raven, Sniper Wolf and Psycho Mantis, they were a nice team of bad characters.

8)Constantine (Thief) Yup. Trickster was a bad motherfucker. He and Garrett never saw eye to eye with each other. A subtle character who evolves later in the game and shows his true stuff. Very good voice, aided by the dark cut-scenes of the game.

9)Kain (Soulreaver). The representative of the vampires, Kain is thirsty for two things: Blood and power. He's the thirsty one.

10)Shodan (System Shock). AM's cousin. A computer that is everywhere, knows everything, never shows himself, always predicts your next move, and yeah he's having you on all the time. All in all, a scary enemy. Only problem, he (System Shock 1) turns out to be a she (System Shock 2).

Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII is far and away my favourite bad guy from any game.

Totally evil, but in a way you could sympathise with, therefore not so easy to just hate outright.

I'd get your ears tested, Shodan was a "she" in the frist game over....

    Donkey Kong: Them damn Minkeys!

Bowser: You can't keep the king of the Koopas down!

The famous Boss from R-Type: Bio-mechanoid creature that still looks good today.

Zaxxon: Bit of a poor bad guy really, you saw him for a few seconds then he was gone. Disappointing (love the game though!).

The Death Star 1+2 (Rogue Leader): (Probably the biggest bosses in any game ever!)

Bison, Vega and Saggat(Street Fighter): Hard as nails. All of them.

    Tom Nook: Evil personified...

Charlie Jolson (The Getaway) : Not because he's a racist bastard, who gets "you" to commit mass murder, is responsible for "your" wife's death and kidnaps "your" kid but for that bloody laser security system the tosser has in his house! :-)

The Master (Fallout) : Forcing the mass mutation of the remaining humans in North America isn't nice at all.

Medusa (Typhoon) : Not a person but the most evil bloody plane ever created, a terrible way to finish the defence of Iceland with a vehicle more appropriate to a game like 1942 et al than a light flight sim.

The Pope (Medievel:Total War) : Loves to throw excommunications around at the drop of a mitre, sends his assassins at your generals on a whim, the Pope must die! That sounds oddly familiar...

Noober (Baldur's Gate) : Not strictly evil but easily the most annoying person created in gaming history.

    This space left intentionally blank.

    Kefka (ff6): insane, a CLOWN
    Kuja (ff9): Kefka's insanity + Sephiroth's bishounen-ess
Ansem (KH): Best final boss in a game, ever.
All the bad guys in Wild Arms 3, since it tricks you into thinking you know who the main villain is several times, then twists all the RPG cliches upside down and inside out.
Mewtwo: Ok, he isn't really evil unless you go by the horribly butchered film, but he blows things up and has this whole Shakespearian tragedy thing going on. Except in the games, where you just lock him up in a tiny ball.

    Ones I don't like:
Sephiroth: he's a bishounen and that's pretty much it. Everyone seems to forget that Sephiroth died before the game started, and the actual villain was Jenova. But he has a big sword and looks cool, and apparently that's all you need to be popular.
FFX: Possibly the worst final battle ever devised - you can't even loose it!
Liquid Snake: it's Leonardo! But where were the other turtles?
The bad guys in Golden Sun: They showed up, what, twice?
