I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed the other day. No solid food since Tuesday. I would murder each and every one of you lot for a burger at this stage...

Found a nice recipe for pork burgers with jalapeno and lime the other day. Sounds nice, just trying to decide what I'd use as toppings and a bun. Was thinking avacado, sour cream and salsa with crumbled tortilla in a flatbread.

    Any ideas?

@ibenam Not really. Can't you understand this is a deeply carnivorous thread? Why not start your own veggie burger thing?

It's a burger thread, beyond that who really cares. Is it so terrible that some people choose to not eat meat that you can't even bear to share the same thread?

    Portable view - Never forget.

Burger shake! Maybe that's taking things to far.

I'm getting a "Flowers for Agamemnon" vibe. A few burgers later and you'll be down to

"Forgot the beef patty, cheese and sauce. Still nice bread. Soo tired, heart racing. Can't focusssss "
lol nope, I'll die of the cardiac arrest before that.

By the way, great book and bloody depressing! Read that so many years ago. I should re-read it ( when I'm feeling chippa)

I'm in London this weekend and would love to get accross to this but Its probably too far to travel.

Can anyone recommend a Veg Burger joint preferably as near to Wembley as possible!
I can't off the top of my head, but I do know GBK do a few nice veggie burgers. Here's where their restaurants are: http://www.gbk.co.uk/find-a-restaurant/

Ignore the oh-so-butch jokes at the expense of vegetarianism. It's a burger thread, not a carnivore thread, so make all the interesting-veggie-burger contributions you like, I'm reading them, because I eat both :)

There is a separate burger thread that is perfectly serviceable for general burger discussion. This thread relates specifically to Morris's OP and Bobs frankly spectacular replicas.

For me it is the only reason I come into this thread, posting pictures of random burgers and general food discussion detracts from that.

    IMO.

Just had some homemade burgers with some freshly made pitta bread straight from the oven. It worked really well. A bit of jarlsberg cheese melted on top too. We had some mushrooms in the fridge, I should possibly have fried those to make up for bob's forgetfulness. ;)

Now I should possibly try and make my own brioche-type buns and see how that goes.

I could use a snooze first though, that meat is requiring some digestion, although i think that's highly unlikely given the rain here keeping our son in the house. Perhaps two burgers was a bad idea at lunchtime.

I'd have no problem with that. It's the singling out veggie burgers that I find weird.

Yes, take your masterchef burger and throw it in the bin, this thread is for real burgers.
A burger with a couple of things added in is hardly Haute Cuisine. It's actually rather funny, considering this thread is all about trying completely different burgers each week.

I think you may have misunderstood the definition of pretentious on this occasion.

Look, if I were alone in my opinion, then I might quieten down a little, but I'm not. So, take your veggie burgers and ram them down your veggie japs eye!

Or, just go to the other, more general purpose burger thread and chat about veggie burgers to your heart's content.

This is a wobbly bob thread!

    Nowt pretentious about that.

Look! I even made you your very own veggie burger thread:

@BinaryBob101 I beg to differ, won't explain why you're a pretentious vermin of a human being but sadly it's true.

Bob is hardly a schoolkid. Hell, you could probably be his son. And he didn't make this thread.

He might be many things, but pretentious certainly isn't one of them.

    No.26 - It's The SheBoygon

Beef Patty, sauerkraut, cheese kurds, sausage, sauteed onions, and beer mustard inna bun.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

    NOTES

Used normal sausage instead of bratwurst that the original called for because the only bratwurst I could find looked minging.

I used Guinness mustard for the beer mustard.

I used cheese kurds ( new to me ) but it was more like soft cream cheese than the lumps in the original. I probably would have been better off using cottage cheese which is similar.

    I didn't forget anything this time ;-)

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

This was the first of the burgers that even when pressing down on it I literally couldn't fit in my gob! I fear the macho nacho more than ever! A real meat fest of a burger. The bun fell apart under my chomping onslaught since it was too big to fit in my mouth whole.

I scooped up great finger fulls and stuffed them into my mouth. Nothing wrong with a huge mouthful of succulent sausage meat and beef with a mustard hit! It's like eating a mixed grill in a bun! Fun to eat as it's so messy. Meat juices and bits of onion dripping from my fingers as I shoved the huge burger into my hungry maw. The cheese was OK but I much prefer a nice melting cheese in my burgers. The only exception to that is blue cheese as it's such a wonderful compliment to beef. Also the burger lacked any sort of sauce which I also like. A good burger for carnivores but not a great one. MESSY AND HUGE :-D Original here

So this weekend it's number 27 The Waldorf - seems a really interesting burger. Only 3 more to go then........ THE MACHO NACHO.
