Number 25 - The Mama Mia

Half pound of ground rib eye steak beef patty with a home made tomato pizza sauce, slabs of mozzarella, and pepperoni in a crusty italian loaf.
    The original

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

NOTES: Forgot the mushrooms that were supposed to be there. I think I am getting too old for this shit. Still, only a few days till retirement! What's the worst that could happen?

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

I was really skeptical about this one. Basically pizza flavors in a bread with a burger patty? I'm not a fan of burgers in anything other than a bun ( too hard to get at the burger ) and I am not the greatest pepperoni fan. You know what? As usual my fears were allayed and it was a damn good and tasty burger.

The first problem was how to eat it. Me and my other half looked at each other. A knife she suggested? A got a knife. We both looked at the huge burger on our plates. With fries. So I manned up and did what needed to be done. Knife be fucked. I'm going in. First my mouth wouldn't even encompass half of it's colossal bready burgery mountain but I squashed that bastard down and bit in hard. GOOD I GROWLED as sauce and beef juice dripped off my face onto the plate.

Really good! Each huge bite was a dripping mass of melted cheese, rich sauce, and beef. The bread wasn't as crusty as I first feared and it didn't come off too pizzay, despite the ingredients. The tomato sauce made the whole thing feel extra juicy and since I kept the sauce hot it melted the cheese. It's not too over complicated just a mass of juicy beef, sauce, and cheese. The pepperoni provides a hint of something in there too although I could leave it out and be happy.

This was really hard to finish though since it was a huge slab of bread, and huge burger. How the fuck I am going to get through the macho nacho, I don't know! Not far now! Only 4 more burgers and it's the end of level boss ;)

    Next Up: The Sheboygan

    Good work Bob, looks lovely.

I made a copy of an In n' Out burger today (the double double) but forgot to take a picture. It was bloody delicious though. It very much resembled this.

Looking forward to your take on The Havana. The Cuban sandwich is probably my favourite sandwich in the entire world ever. Be interesting to see how the burger version stacks up.

Ham, roast pork, Swiss, mustard, dill pickle and Cuban bread. The bread is really what distinguishes it.

@wobbly_Bob When you do BBQ burgers, would you have your mix as loose as searing in a pan/griddle?

@darkmorgado some cheese slices are processed but not all, doubt in'n'out's cheese is processed considering their focus on quality ingredients

I'm getting a "Flowers for Agamemnon" vibe. A few burgers later and you'll be down to

"Forgot the beef patty, cheese and sauce. Still nice bread. Soo tired, heart racing. Can't focusssss "

If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

The Cheese and Burger Society doesn't promote the consumption of burgers made from vegetables.

The only veg burger place I know is in Ghent, Belgium. Bit of a track I guess. That said. They are surprisingly good. I was more than sceptic initally.
