For those of you that have played it through, should I watch the Aftermath teaser before playing? I don't want spoilers but would appreciate a recap of when it takes place etc. Any advice before I start it?

Yeah, go for it. It doesn't spoil it and you get 10G for your troubles.

Sorry if this is a dumb question ... but why is it spelled 'Judgment'?

LB, you really are a massive geek.

Apparently that's the spelling when used for court cases. It's the same spelling for US and UK. I thought it was spelt wrong too.

    Recent changes to Judgment:

    - Execution now available as a gametype. Execution, I missed you. Desperately. Welcome back!
    - Under the hood, Warzone has always been called TDM; this led to a bug in the menus where Warzone was actually showing up as an available option. No, it was not Warzone, it was a broken version of TDM thanks to a typo. Typo fixed, Warzone no longer showing up. (Sorry if we got your hopes up!)
    - New map released. Look for Haven in standard MP!
    - Mortar wasn't working properly on clients, so it was replaced by Torquebow (only affects Gondola). May be addressed properly in future patch.
    - Frags were appearing in Execution under some conditions, so all base Frag pickups replaced by Smokes. This, too, is a temporary fix to keep the game moving, and will be addressed properly in a future TU. This also affects only Gondola. Poor Gondola has had a rough week.
    - Boomshot appears to be horribly OP in Execution. Boomshot has therefore been temporarily removed from Execution gametype. Would love feedback here.
    - Smoke nade count reduced from 2 down to 1 in Execution.
    - Removed the ability to martyr smoke grenades. Executions are now fun in Execution again.
    - Smoke cringe duration slightly reduced.
    - Shortened lifespan of Stim grenades in standard MP. Overrun/Survival unchanged.
    - Value of XP in all prize boxes increased.

OK, here's the more controversial changes. Feedback appreciated:

    - Shortened the melee stun significantly, and added a very, very short delay after melee swing with the Gnasher. Note that Sawed Off now inherits from the Gnasher, so this change will affect both. Melee was getting more kills than all other weapons in the game combined, excluding the Gnasher.

    - Lancer buffed (about a 15% increase). My gut says that's a bit much - and Pete is wary as well - but we wanted to let it play out a bit and see how it shifted the balance of gameplay. In the first week of release, approx. 80% of all kills in MP were from the Gnasher. (Were you one of the people who claimed this was going to be a Rifle only game? Eat your words! :p) I would love to hear your thoughts as to whether this is because the Gnasher is the preferred weapon (not a problem) or if the Gnasher is the only way to play because balance is off (a problem). Obviously, the true answer lies somewhere in the middle, but we should still look at it.

    - Retro and HB both given a very, very, small buff (1 bullet fewer to kill with Retro, and a fraction of a bullet less (math is fun!) for the HB) to help them hang with the new and improved (?) Lancer.

So they took out the broken stuff rather than fixing it? Hmmm.

I saw the melee symbol a lot when playing tdm & domination on sat. That wasn't a big surprise. Glad they are trying to counter it & two-piecing.

Played loads of vs MP on Sunday. You could really feel that damage increase. They've gone a bit OTT with it.

Didn't notice any reduction in the amount of people going in for the two-piece either.

It's a challenge certainly, but some levels aren't too bad.

:) Tough times last night then?

I wonder if this will be the first gears game I don't do on insane!

It won't be too bad on your as your support team have DBNO and are tough. Last night saw Paduk take boomshot to the chest without flinching!

Maybe I jumped in on a particularly tough section. It took us around 35 attempts to do the first one where you meet the Rager, then only around 5 to do the next one.

Paduk was a hero on the second part! Tough but eager to do some more of it.

Awesome games again fellas. I thought I'd jump on to grab the special event ribbon and ended up joining a FFA match 6 kills behind and then winning the whole thing with a difference of 4. Ha!

    Great stuff.
As you say, good fun session with yourself and the chaps. I only have 9 sections in co-op to go now ;)

Cheers folks. Great games, but apologies for loss of voice comms. Think my headphone batteries got too low for broadcast.

Was fun to play that chapter, even if it was a level ahead of where i am. Nice to grab those tags in advance though!

Still got to do an event. May try it tomorrow. Good fun doing the campaign parts. Dread to think what the Vole parts will be like on insane!

    :)
Trying to decide best set up. I think
    2x Cole
    2x Baird
    1X paduk

My next "things to complete" are
Campaign in coop (not insane...not yet) 9 sections to go.
Survival, complete the last area I need for that cheveo

...I will be asking for help in these matters ;)

You are deadly with Babooshka Duff.

The medic is good as her weapons are well balanced but the stim grenades are pretty useless.

Oh and barriers are for pansies ;)

After a long unintended break from this I finally finished off the main campaign last night on Hardcore and loved every second. The last defend this area section right after dropping the bomb was intense on Hardcore but so much fun! Took me 3 retires to get passed it in the end.

I'm saving the other little campaign thing for now as I'm going to play through Gears 2 and 3 now (finished the first game recently for the 100th time) so they are fresh in my mind when I got back to it.

I shall also try and get into the multiplayer side of Judgement as the very little I have played so far was fun.

Yep, it was great fun. Now I just need to twist all your arms to do another three maps on normal to get all 10 waves done for that achievement some time. ;-)

I think I might skip the medic next time though. I don't think she was too much help on normal, but is probably a requirement on hardcore to prevent missing people for too long when times get tough.

The sniper spot debuff is probably more use, or possibly another baird for emergency turret deployment and repairs. Especially when all the damned maulers, serapedes, bloodmounts and corpsers start piling in.

    Great chaotic fun though. :)
