    16 Candles homage?

I'll never get my Orc looking the same again.

I didn't think it was that good - the pacing is just wrong all the way through. I did kinda like the extremis dudes but the film in general feels misplaced within the Iron Man franchise; not as funny in general, more kinda James Bond-like.

The comic relief character pisses all over the comic fiction and also fucks up the first film a bit.

    It was alright though.

Can anyone suggest whether it's worth seeing this in 3D or not?

    No.

I've noticed that there seem to be more options for watching in 2D from launch with IM2,definitely a very good thing.

Sometimes yes, Avatar and Dredd as examples.

Drive Angry has good 3D as well.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

This is why I asked if it was worthwhile, to find out whether this was number 3. In some films, it's done 'well' and adds a little to the enjoyment, without seeing it for myself I wanted to seek opinion on the matter.

Sorry it bothers you so much.

It doesnt. You asked a question and I.. well.. I didnt answer it, I asked another question, but you get the point.

if you want to watch it in 3D, go nuts.

If by good 3D you mean things fly at you through the screen like the gimmick it is then yes, Drive Angry has good 3D.

It's been a while since the initial surge of rushed 3D conversions, isn't it? More or less all of the 3D films I've seen recently have been fine.

    2D is best.

I do like to see films on IMAX though and these days there are not that many films shown on that kind of a screen which are not 3D. Oblivion was 2D and much better for it. I wasn't impressed with the 3D for IM3 on the normal (still big) screen.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

There was a decent movie in there, but I agree with Derblington - pacing's all over the place. Made me laugh out loud once or twice "no need to be a pussy about it" and "I don't even like working here" and the effects were good, but otherwise, I was a bit bored.

Great film, but for the guy who was asking, the 3D is absolute shit. I literally can't think of a single scene where it was implemented well, or added anything to the picture.
The cunty thing is, if I want to see a flick in Imax then I'm pretty much forced to watch the 3D version.

I thought the 3D was ok. Doesn't have to have stuff flying at the screen all the time just add a depth of field.

Really enjoyed that, in fact I think I'd say it was as good as the first one and way better than the second. Top fun from start to finish.

    Kingsley was quality!

Hmmm.... Iron Man Three (as the credits read)..... I was expecting something a little darker from the limited amount of previews I'd read but there were a few times when I wondered if taking along the kids was such a good idea.

There are (brief) humorous moments but it has less of the light-hearted sass of the previous films.

Oh, stay on after the credits finish for a short pallette cleanser! Speaking of credits I'd expected a Sir to go with the Ben Kingsley - thought he was quite 'strict' about that.

I just realised that I saw it in 3D. Barely even noticed. Take that for what you will.

Fun film - l wasn't bored - but the end was lame and l felt that tone of the film was a bit too hammy. Downey Jr as Stark has gone down the same road as Depp as Sparrow: it's almost a parody of itself at this point.

The first one was still the best.

Saw it last night (in good old fashioned 2D) and i thought it was superb.

Maybe not quite as good as the first movie, but light-years ahead of IM2. Downey was his usual excellent self, you had three excellent villains in Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce and James Badge Dale and there was good supporting work from Don Cheadle and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Shane Black polished the script quite nicely, probably the best example of his wit coming through three henchmen towards the end of the movie (and one of the biggest laughs).

Good action, a good story and overall, an excellent movie.

The first Iron Man was probably a 9/10 for me, Iron Man 2 was a mediocre 6/10, but this knocks it back up to a superlative 8/10.

I'm not sure you know what superlative means.

I found all the Shane Black type dialogue forced and very dated. It missed more often than it hit the mark.

Nothing brightens my day more than the Grammar police.

Superlative is defined as "of the highest quality".

I think the first movie is better than the 3rd one, but they are both "of the highest quality".

    / sigh

Close, but you left out the "surpassing or superior to all others" part of the definition. The issue comes from your scores, anyway, not your words.

"OF THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE QUALITY - 8/10"

EG should put that in their scoring policy.

Awesome film, really enjoyed it...would recommend to see. Disney seem to be doing well with the marvel franchise.

I would say fairly dull, poorly paced with some narrative left on the cutting room floor. The Mandarin starts off as a great villain but is perhaps hamstrung by the revelation. Ben Kingsley is far and away the best thing about the film.
I think the movie shoots its load with the finalefeaturing all the suits leaving little room for growth. Which may be intentional.
Gwyneth Paltrow still hot but Pepper Potts is pulled in a direction that I have never seen in the comic books. Other supporting cast pretty much dial it in. Shame as Don Cheadle is so obviously a dude.
Bombastic but ultimately soul less. 6/10
