No but it included town sections. My point wasn't to say "it's okay", merely that Criterion has form where shitty ghost towns are concerned. :)

Either way I'm not particularly worried, I can't see this being less than a 8/10 game.

You asked, so here are my impressions from playing it on Saturday.

It's pretty much a mash-up of Burnout Paradise and NFS Hot Pursuit, with added performance customisation and probably other things that we're not aware of yet. I'm getting it day 1.

Was there any rubber banding present in this? It can quite easily ruin a racing game for me. That's what stopped me playing Hot Pursuit.

Yes, there is. It's more or less a staple of arcade racers.

@fletch7100 Surely it's a mistake. I pre-ordered mine from Amazon when it dropped in price to 32.99.

Does anyone know when we can expect to see reviews for this?

Think the embargo is up later today so you should see a flood of (very positive) reviews appearing very soon.

I can't wait for this! Most wanted game of the year for sure.

Think I'll plump for this over horizon.

I'll be picking up Horizon at a later stage but this has my undivided attention.

It played wonderfully at the Expo and I can't wait to explore all the nooks and crannies of the city and the surrounding area.

Is Most Wanted Criterion's way of asking EA to do another Burnout game? I read a quote from Craig Sullivan [last week] where he said Criterion will make another Burnout, but...

MW: I made a Burnout game this year! It's hilarious when you see, 'That's not a Burnout game'. And I'm like, oh really? Aren't we the best judges of that?
NO. Maybe you're not. You made something in such difference to the series it purports to be part of, that many people don't consider it a part of said franchise, don't consider them like parts.

The people you are providing content for, actually do get to decide how they feel about it! Surprising, maybe. :-(

i can see this being a game i'd play to the death and go for the platinum.

no doubt it will have its trademark mugshot need-a-fucking-camera trophy though, and fuck it up for everyone.
Not so!! The list is quite reasonable and none are unobtainable and require the purchase of specialist hardware.

Shame that the new Sonic Transformed racer sadly has a couple like that though. One or two of theirs insist you own 4 controllers...

But in the next sentence he says...
Q: Is that the future of Burnout, though?

MW: No, no. For us... It's obvious to us. Burnout and Need For Speed is night and day.
Which implies that NFS:MW is NOT a Burnout game. Confused.

@anthonypappa - Burnout Paradise and Hot Pursuit are my only 2 Platinums. Personally I preferred the open-world setting of Paradise to the very linear approach of Hot Pursuit. It looks like they've addressed the concern of having an open world in Most Wanted by having checkpoints that you can follow... if you want.

Bloody typical. I fly to China on business the day this comes out. So I'll be missing out on this and Halo 4 the following week.

    Bum.

On the plus side, you get to go to China, and someone else is paying for it presumably.

Oh don't get me wrong - Saturday night and Sunday in Hong Kong. Tour a couple of factories in China on Monday and Tuesday, conference Wednesday to Friday and then fly back.

But all the while I'll be wondering what times Collymilad, SaucyGeoff and mikew1985 will have been putting in :-)

@Tricky - if you have a Vita, you could buy it for that and play it on the plane. :)

On that subject, does anyone know if the Vita version has an online pass? Obviously it will on console, but I'm pretty sure stuff like Fifa on Vita didn't, so it's not clear. It'd be nice not to have to buy it on PSN.

Better one of Tr1cky's times, and you know he'll not rest until he's back in front. It's inevitable.

Maybe a head start will do us good.

Well who knows - maybe I won't get on as well with the handling in Most Wanted? I've been replaying a bit of Burnout Paradise recently (my four-year-old son loves watching it) and I definitely don't get on with that as well as I did with HP.

It's only if I know that I can do it that I'll try - I've long since given up trying to best some of you lot's times in Trials Evolution, for example :-)
