I'm still watching, it's amazing how awful show can be and still be shown on network television.

Plus it appears to be cranking up the Elizabeth Mitchell screen time so I can't not watch it really.

What's that? Another JJ Abrams backed project that is SHIT?

    There's a surprise.

I liked it. It felt more like Farscape than Terra Nova. Infinitely superior to Revolution. And why is anyone still watching The Following? God, why?

Rockne S. O'Bannon created both Defiance and Farscape so it's not too surprising.

Also seaQuest DSV but we'll ignore that... :-)

Don't mock seaquest DSV, without that we would not had seaquest 2032 with Captain Sam Fisher.

Also, in the early series it used to have some beardy bloke turn up in the end credits and tell me stories about the sea and fishes and stuff.

Was almost as good as when he-man and man-at-arms used to tell me how sharing was good and bullying was bad.

It was OK. Really predictable story though which doesnt bode well for following weeks.

The thing that made me laugh was that the CGI was actually of lower quality than what you would expect of the video game. The car chase in particular looked like a cut scene from the PS1 era.

It's not a bad show, it's just that the Pilot was a bit too safe. Bad guy mob boss type, nicer guy family business type, sarky Doctor, idealistic Mayor, Romeo & Juliet kids plus the new bad boy in town that's good at killing things and becomes the Lawkeeper.

Most of that's simply because it's the first episode so they had to introduce them all, and the fastest way to do that is cut their character down to their basic template. It's logical enough, but as I say it comes off as far too safe. I'd have been tempted to leave out a few of them, though I'm not sure which ones.

So I hope that now all the exposition is out of the way it'll find it's feet and become it's own show.

Im looking forward to the simmering 'will they/wont they' sexual tension between the mayor and the dude.

    And her hooker sister.

    Speaking of whom....

It was good to see the best character from 24 on our screens again.

While it wasn't particularly amazing, I love how people go to extremes and say "It looked like a cutscene from a C64 game".

I'm ashamed to say I enjoyed it!

Script, some make up and monster designs, and the CGI were all incredibly poor and generic, but 3 characters..possibly 4, were very well realised and enjoyable to watch.

I really like Nolan as a character. He's like a cross between, Mal, O'Neil, Han Solo etc, Lovable rogue character.

You know the archetype, every sci-fi show seems to have one as a lead.

Some of the CGI was actually pretty decent, which made the bad stuff even more astonishing. I think they spent the entire graphics budget on the red head girl aliens eyes.

They aren't sisters. They're "Sisters". Part of the Sisterhood from the planet Lesbos. I hope.

Anyway, this was better than I thought it would be, I'll keep on watching for a while as I was pleasantly surprised, cliches or not.

I've got the pilot Sky plus'd, but havent got around to watching it yet. Critics dont seem to think too much of it, but i personally think its quite stupid to write a show off after 1 episode.

Will probably watch it tomorrow night with the mrs, quite looking forward to it despite the negative press......

I enjoyed it.. I wouldnt go as far as to say its brilliant but it seems like a good show with potential.. It was only a pilot episode give it a chance and hopefully it picks up.

I think critically it's had an ok reception. The AV club were positive about it:

MY flatmate didn't like I thought it was a bit meh but it has potential and I'm going to be watching it again next week. Would be good if they can get away from some of the cliches and maybe start explaining the world better.

What do you mean? They're sisters. Amanda and Kenya Rosewater. Though incest isn't outside Mia's acting repertoire, so some Lesbos Sister Lovin' isn't totally out of the question :)

While i found it all very unoriginal, I really enjoyed it. The cast's good and they all seemed to be enjoying themselves. I'm guessing they played it safe for the first episode, I'm expecting great things as the series progresses.

    For the emperor!

I'm guessing they played it safe for the first episode/have a lack of imagination/freedom/budget, as per usual, but I'm expecting better things as the series progresses, much as with the game.
    Fixed for me.
