I work in the games industry and I still don't know exactly what a Wii U is supposed to be; I suppose I should watch the presentation or read about it but I honestly could not give half a shit.

Microsoft and Sony basically admitted that they have next to fuck all of worth to talk about (that we didn't, really, already know) because all eyes are on their next gen offerings and they're a year away from a reveal.

So to win hearts and minds, with brand new potentially very exciting hardware just around the corner and a track record of amazing software, all Nintendo had to do was get up on stage for a few minutes and _not_ shit themselves publicly.

I think the renamed thread title is all too apt. :)

But I'm gutted - Pikmin 3 aside there's nothing there to get too excited about. When Wii U is released it'll be like the first 9 months of the 3DS, and probably worse. :(

And on the subject of the 3DS, Luigi's Mansion 2 (or Dark Moony) is now "holiday 2012"?! It was supposed to be out already, you gargantuan clunges. :-/

There may be no bombs which is your fucking fault, you fucker but you never know - they may have a couple of party poppers or the odd cracker left in the bag for launch.

Mario and Zelda never officially met until 1999's Super Smash Brothers, so this cereal can't possibly be canon.

Maybe I should've made it clear why I personally found the title change a bit shameful. Imagine farting then following through right now. What happens? You've got shit in your pants. Shit in your pants needs dealt with. You have to go, clean yourself up, and generally deal with the situation.

Or to extend it further, imagine following through on a packed lift. You can't deal with it there and then. The smell of the shit you've got in your pants is going to spread and infect that whole lift. If you've got co-workers in there, they'll talk about it. They'll talk about YOU.

You see, a Shart is an event. It is something that changes the status of something. To call the Nintendo Wii U conference a Shart is significantly overstating it's importance. It's not even that, it's a nothing. Don't get me wrong, I'm still looking forward to Wii U, but no thanks to anything they announced recently.

It wasn't even a fruity fart or a risky bum burble that could've went either way. It was nothing. At best, one of those farts you think might happen, but it just ebbs away, never to return.

Ive been a regular follower of eurogamer for 4 years, just because I dont post every spare min doesn't necessarily mean I can't comment on something.

No but it probably means you don't understand the context and as such your view is almost certainly irrelevant.

And 140 in 4 years is a hell of a lot less than 'every spare min'.

Again, it doesn't mean I don't know whats going on. For example, you gioing on about OS over and over again these last few days has been a little tedious but also fairly funny.
  • Deleted user 6 June 2012 21:36:29
E3 didn't mention the size of the OS once.
