We are a small indie studio trying to gain exposure and not really sure the best way to go about it so I come to you for advise and tips. I will post about our game and hopefully you guys will find the time to download the lite version and have a blast with it.

    Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wuFlMnxhB7A

    App Link: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pastry-pig-lite/id525878120?mt=8

I hope you guys have fun playing it as much as I did making it.

    Cheers,
    Jonathon

Addictive. Addictive is the word you're looking for. Good luck with the game!

Just so you take this constructively, the advice we give is to ensure you use the right words in the right context when trying to advertise. It helps lend even the smallest indie developers a sense of professionalism.

I came in here just to see how annoyed everyone would be at the use of "addicting".

It's cute and the music is nice. I'd buy it if I had a iPhone or iPad.

It is a word. However, it is not correctly used here. Thus the entire thread, and the game therein, fails. It's a free lesson in marketing, though.

ps - I only came in to talk about the title too, like speedofthepuma.

I also only entered this thread because of the mis-use of the word "addicting". Had the word "addictive" been used instead, I probably would never have clicked the thread title and seen the op. So who's the fool now, eh?

    Oh right, it's me. Whoops.

Hey has anyone mentioned the use of "addicting" in the thread title yet?

I don't see what's wrong. He obviously intended to use the colloquial slang form of the word since this is just a forum and we're all informal. Give it another 10 years and 'addicting' will probably be in the dictionary anyway given the fact it's now used so regularly.

Stupid bloody web game websites with their stupid names like "Addictinggames.Com."

Everyone goes for the obvious. Where's the nerd indignation about 'advise'? Noobs.

I'm worried about the cover art.

The game is called Pastry Pig, yet the cover clearly shows a Cup Cake. Are cup cakes pastry, I doubt it, they are firmly in the cake sector of the baking world.

Silly mistakes like this can ruin a game. I'm also out.

I brought this to EG's attention and they said they'd contact Rodger Gregg, the founder of Gregg's, for a statement on the matter.

You want our "advice", not our "advise". Hopefully the quality of your english is not a reflection of the quality of your game.

We all skipped the actual post because it's irrelevant, the title is all that matters.

When was "addicting" added to the dictionary?

I have only seen it used in the past 2-3 years. Google brings up a load of hits though, which suggests it is has been in use frequently and for some time.

Maybe it is a language free for all now?

Might drived down to the M&S for lunching, quite hungered.

Probably along with 'loose' (as in, "you loose" ).

    A depressing thought.

I looked at the trailer cos I thought we were being a bit mean to the guy. To be fair, it looks ok, but I just can't get enthusiastic about another trial-and-error physics puzzler on iOS. Even if it came with a free night with Mila Kunis I'd think twice.
