Just thought I'd bring to light some shady dealings going on in the halls of Tesco.

Did a food shop on Friday night, and wanted some hot pepper sauce so went for my usual brand in the usual sauces aisle:

I then carry on, and eventually arrive at the "World Foods" aisle. Guess what I find:

Notice the difference? I obviously ditched my first bottle and went for this, not forgetting to take photographic evidence of the injustice.

So what do I do now? How far can I take this bearing in mind I don't know how high up this thing goes?

Put it down to Hanlon's razor

"Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."

Tesco have scrimped on their staff and work the existing ones so hard, that they struggle to keep up with the constant edicts that arrive daily from head office.

But the staff in general seemed pretty relaxed, although some did appear edgy when I approached the World Foods. Like they knew I was onto them.

Can't say I've ever been in a World Foods aisle in Tesco. Is it just hot sauce and Old El Paso?

It's a got mixture of East European, Asian, and Afro-Caribbean cuisine. It's where I buy my Guava juice.

There's lots of examples of this in the World Food aisle. Rice for example.

But that's different brands of Rice. I'm talking about the exact same product here being cheaper for foreigners, probably on benefits!!!!!

Why didn'y you ask to speak to the manager and confront him with it?
More likely to get a resolution that way than by posting pics on the EG forum.

Does an undercover cop confront the gang lord before reporting to his HQ? Think Alastair!

If your local Tesco is run by a gang lord, consider taking your custom to Sainsbury's.

I'd take it straight to Paul Simon or Andy Kershaw. They're the go to guys with anything "World" related.

New World Order pepper sauce?! No thanks. Once that stuff is inside you, no amount of tin foil will keep you safe.

If you point out price differences like that, I imagine they would keep the lower volume at the old price and raise the price of the higher volume.

Perhaps write a polite letter to the manager. Do try and avoid accusing them of deliberately trying to rape customers or other such hysteria. Maybe the manufacturer changed the size of the bottle but kept the price the same and they've got some stock hanging around. Maybe it's not a scam. maybe it's just one of those things that happen when you run a nationwide business with thousands of outlets selling thousands of products in each.

You want me to bend over and take the shafting from Mr FatCat McTesco? I pay my taxes, and now the foreigners are coming in and getting cheaper pepper sauce than me?!?!?!

Son, we live in a world that has aisles, and those aisles have to be guarded by men with smartphones. Who's gonna do it? You? You, lzdking? I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for the foreigners, and you curse us nationals. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps prices down. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me in that aisle, you need me in that aisle. I use words like honor, code, loyalty. I use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it.

Looks like they are replacing the larger bottles with the smaller at the same price.

Do the decent thing and post it on HKUD.

My local Tesco are advertising a four pack of Stella for 4. Or you can buy two for the bargain price of 8.
I took them to the till and the cunt charged me 8.74. I made him put 74p back onto my card.
Thankfully I've not been ripped off on pepper sauce yet!
