    i've been searching for Dark Chronicle(PS2) for an age and finally managed to find it for £20 second hand :/.

    well, i go to try it out and it keep freezing just after language selection, i look at the disc and it has a myriad of light scratches all over the place.

    here's mah question.

    does anyone know of any custom homebrew techniques that can fix this?

    you can clean it with a soft sheet imbued with water.

    toothpaste, so it doesnt just clean teeth...

    Use a glasses cleaner if you have one. Whatever you do, don't buy the Disc Cleaner thingy from that shite company that are on TV all the time. I used it on Halo 1, and it came out no different. What a cop-out that was.

    its really frustrating because i was playing it not 2 hours ago. took about 4 starts but it worked fine. the second i turn it off becuase i have to go out, it stops working.

    i tried vaseline, warm water, and now toothpaste,
    and it just doesnt bloody start proper!

    all i want to do is play Dark Chronicle.

    Take it back. It doesn't work, so get your money back. I'm sure there'll be a few copies knocking around on eBay. Hey, I'll look for you since I'm on it at the moment. I'll report back in a minute.

    ah, the cunning thing is, i picked it up on from england whilst on holiday about 3 days ago (i live in Spain). and nowehere has it new, NOWHERE.

    only place i've ever seen it is second-hand in game for £30.
