So mid grey trainers and dark blue jeans what is the appropriate sock colour? I've generally worn black socks for years but they don't seem right with grey trainers? I'm thinking dark grey. Ankle socks are just stupid so don't bother to suggest them. This is a very important thread I am off to Tuscany on Saturday on me hols and cannot afford any fashion faux pas!

Knee-high red socks is the correct answer when worn with short shorts.

With jodhpurs, shorts or mid-length trousers I would go with white if you insist on not wearing ankle socks, which would be the correct solution.

    Socks? On holiday?

It's time to go au naturel. You'll soon learn to love the sweaty slop of skin and pasta sauce that accumulates.

If you really are Freddy Mercury's twin then I dare say you could get away with wearing anything.

It really has to be pastel. A pastel yellow might work. carrot orange (but in the pastel).

Just accept that your fashion sense is inadequate and embrace the socks and sandals.

I'd probably go with black or dark blue tbh.
