Sounds amazing - I'm so hyped for this game. Gravity Rush and this seem to be two genuine must plays that you cannot get anywhere else.

I suspect Vita is selling quite well in the US and EU and that is the reason behind no price cut. It really does seem like it's just the media saying it's failing as loads of Vita's are around. Near updates have gone from around 25 - 30 at Christmas when I got it to around 45 - 50 now. I live in Northampton and not even in the town center itself so sales seem to be strong to me.

PS+ was a masterstroke and seems to be driving sales in a big way.

This is looking really amazing. Some piccies in the GAF thread show some really cool monster designs.

Spent an hour browsing videos of this on youtube last night. I couldn't be more excited about a game. I'm more interested in this than any other upcoming game on any platform.

I think it's pretty interesting that the Japanese version is getting English voice DLC. I know we're getting Japanese voice DLC but for some reason it didn't occur to me that it would be the other way round too. :p

Would the Japanese, in general, be interested in playing the game with English voices at all?

    @dominalien

I would say yes. I spent a month in Japan and they're fascinated by western culture and very keen to test their English.

Yep. Think of the Square Enix 'International' editions that get released in Japan to squeeze more money out of the games. ;)

Been really looking forward to this, but I managed to get a session in at the GDC expo and I was fairly underwhelmed..

I think it was the nature of the attacks that didn't do much for me. May need to give it more time, play it from the start. Looks very pretty, but yeah, I've been sort of unsold for now.

    @Daeltaja

Nooooo!! It was selling like hot cakes in Japan, though to be fair that's not always the best barometer of quality.

Will probably be picking it up anyway to be honest!!

Did they let you mess around with the equip menu before the missions? The game has loads of different attacks - perhaps the initial loadout didn't have anything you like.

Having been looking at more videos of this, my primary concern is that it's very geared to a 4-player experience, at the expense of it being a single player game. The MH games feel very much like this, and are one of the reasons I don't really get on with them.

I rarely have the chance to play the Vita online, so it need to be a good single player game to float my boat.
    Edit: Found this:

Soul Sacrifice Famitsu review: 10/9/9/9 37/40

-Over 300 types of magic with a deep crafting system.
-About 25 hours to complete story on single player, multiplayer content expands this to several hundred hours.
-Superb storytelling through the grimoire system and its journal entries.
-Story is quite moving and definitely worth the time to experience.
-Huge variation of spells makes for extremely deep tactical multiplayer experience.
-Team work and role assignment in multiplayer has immense potential.
-Dying and being sacrificed is still fun and does not affect rewards.
-Being able to continue fighting even when dead is extremely welcome feature.
-The dark fantasy theme is well portrayed and written, although it may be too dark for some people's taste.
-Difficulty level is very high, but the high speed action is extremely fun and rewarding to learn.
-Salvation and Sacrifice system adds surprisingly profound and meaningful choice to the game.
-It might be "another hunting game" but it is overflowing with originality.
-Single player is fun in its own right, but multiplayer is where the game really shines. The more the merrier!
The last point has me mildly concerned...

    Big review/walkthrough.

Long story short, if you are into collecting and upgrading your gear this game is not for you. If you like your mages and like to experiment with new magic then this is the game for you.

Considering that I stay as far away from magic and mage abilities as possible in all my games, whether it is Skyrim, Dark/Demon Souls etc. I don't think this is the game for me!

Interesting. I find magic in Elder Scrolls game a bit clunky, but in Dark Souls it is almost vital...

Might explain why I never got on with it as much as demon souls then. Don't get me wrong, I did use some magic, mainly healing and a couple in reserve for surprise invasions. But I just don't enjoy it, feels detached and a bit cheating.

Fair enough if you're not into mp but would you really be disappointed by a 25 hour single player game?

It's not a question of the length of the SP game - 25 hours sounds great - my concern is that the game's really built around multiplayer action, with the SP game being a mere shadow of the MP one...

See your point but doubt that's the case. The famitsu review raves about the single player.

I think the mp will be the most fun though. Can't beat seriously difficult coop games

Cannot wait for this one. Might call in sick on release date

This is all a bit confusing. The first line of the demo announcement on the PS blog says: "Hi, everyone! Soul Sacrifice launches exclusively for PlayStation Vita across Europe from April 30th..."

I get that it's the EU blog (and that it does say from 'from', and not 'on'), but couldn't they give specific dates to lessen the confusion? Unless I'm missing something obvious, which is more than likely. Ah well, as you say it's only a couple of days or so.

    EDIT - Can't spell :(
