Anyone else having problems with the menus crashing in Manager Mode? It doesn't seem to auto-save either (unlike FIFA 11, which is weird), so for the third time in a row I've lost a bit of playing time. The only option seems to be manually saving after every game, which is a bit of a pain.

Registered 2 years agoWell worth doing the Skill Games! Came across a natty Scholes-esque low cross-field lob pass I didn't even know you could pull off in the game! (RB + B)
And if I needed further evidence that the shooting has been greatly improved, and is now pretty much on a par with Pro Evo, scored a glorious controlled volley goal on the edge of my box, the type of shot I could never quite seem to get right in previous FIFA's, where it sometimes felt like you had to hit the ball in fairly specific ways in other to score..
The more I play this game, the more I'm enjoying it. Everything is just better. It's wonderfully free-form, and you can really feel all the various gameplay systems and tweaks EA have introduced this gen working together in perfect harmony. It's hard to believe I was so down on it at the start! :-D -

Stick with an unpopular formation like 343 or 5221. The cards are cheap on the market and invaluable for getting them final few chemistry points. Mainly buy guys who are already this formation though, just use the filter.

Registered 9 years agoSo I've managed to get myself a reasonable bronze level 100 chem, all English (meh) 5-3-2 set up but I've noticed that when playing online other similar bronze teams' fitness seams to be way above mine. It's getting to the end of a match and I can see they've got lots of dash left but my guys are f'cked. What am I missing? -

Registered 6 years agoEvery now and then I play a match but don't get the eafc (I think it's called that) point. Like today I done the challenge it was posted on my wall but no xp. Anyone else have this problem? Feel like its been following me since fifa 12 and has cost me a level or two.

Registered 8 years agoHeh so my 343 UT formation is proving a giggle. Lost a game 5-4 last night, all of his goals were scored by running through my 3 defenders with a single player. I need some way of telling my midfielders to stay back and cover. Maybe playing on ultra defensive... Also the guy had a fully gold team vs my bronze.
Won div 5 online tho, so woo. -

I beat a mostly gold team with my 63rated bronze in seasons last night. They're all nicely City'd up as well now, in the Etihad, just lovely. Still can't get past the 1/4's in the Bronze online tournament though, mostly because of that fitness issue. Must need to buy more trainers or cards or something. -

You can buy fitness cards on the trade auction bit.
Although it's cheaper just to have two players for each pos and rotate I reckon. -

Registered 7 years agoIs it the norm for folk to always mark the first defender at goal kicks or are most folk I've played online just cunts?
Seems impossible to pass to any other player, even if aiming the pass at a full back, and folk online seem to like to exploit that.
Seems the footballing equivalent to spawn camping. -

Oh and I'm not actually sure it's that bad a thing really in some ways as it does make it a bit more realistic to football, you can't just always play it out from the back after all. -

It's mildly annoying when you forget and they inveitably score a goal, but i wouldnt term it cheating. -

Registered 4 years agoOf course it's not cheating - it's just forcing the other guy to work harder for possession. And you can pass it to more than one player from goal kick anyways. -

I've started passing long to a wide midfielder from goal kicks. Against most people they are usually unmarked and can be reached pretty consistently with 2 bars of long pass juice.
