AOKP build 3 on the i9100 seems to have much better battery life than cyanagenmod had.. Been running over the weekend and it is a noticeable difference.

Can anyone smarter than me help me out please?!

When I use location based apps, weather, foursquare, trip advisor, etc, I have to reset my phone each time for it/the apps, to recognise my new location.

E.g. went to a friend's on Sunday, all the apps recognised I was at the new location, but when home it still had me at the place I had visited, until I did a reset, open the app and then finds me again?!

Hardwear, settings, apps? Confused, similar apps on my nexus 7 have no problem. Just wondered if I'm missing something?

    Cheers as always.

Just got a new s3 and wondering what's the best method to get rid of all the bloatware?

I can figure out how to root it if needs be but am I looking at loading a custom ROM on or just deleting all the crud?

Or should I forget about rooting all together and just disable stuff?

You can do either. Root it and install a custom rom, or just remove the bloat. Personally I'd stick a new rom on, loads of fun.

I can see from the thread you've tried a few ROMs, what was the best/most clean?

I'm not all that interested in having root access, I just don't want ALL this shit on my new shiny.

Cyanogenmod is slick and fast but destroys the battery and doesn't recognise an additional SD card.

@TVoJ I've been using Sentinel Rom for a while now, I've not updated it to 4.80 (too lazy) but it's been good on 4.40 for battery life.

@Armoured_Bear Some ROMs won't read SD cards over 32gb because of the way they're formatted (Micro Sd XC cards I think), check that forum for more details. There's a thread there somewhere because it helped me when i had issues.

I enjoy settled on the Super Nexus Rom, which is as vanilla as you can get, like the Nexus phone/tab. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some custom roms but is much more stable ime.

Cheers, I gave up and went back to the stock ROM which is horrendously slow but at least I can access my music as I wait for the new iPhone and the chance to get rid of the S3 for good. My experience has been terrible, thankfully it sounds as if other are happy with it.

Thanks for the input guys. I rooted the phone last week and used titanium backup to delete a few things I didn't want. Alls going well but I think I may still try that nexus rom to see if I can free up some more RAM. The usage never goes below 75%

Tips o a good rom manager?

@TVoJ is it affecting the performance of your phone or do you just want to see the %amount be lower?
