I know I know. I'm just going have to start wearing clowns pants so I can fit it in the pockets.

Nah, your trackie bottoms pocket will take it snugly, leaving room next to it for your folded in half giro.

I like how both of your profile pics are ready for the rumble.

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

I'll fucking have him. I think he calls me a chav because I liked Max Payne 3. At least I think that's where his vendetta started. I may have also called him a cunt.

That's the thing I'm worried about. I don't mind the size (mainly because it's so thin and light), but the slippery glossy finish seems like a recipe for disaster. I much prefer the look and textured back of the Galaxy Nexus, and probably would have gone for that if it had expandable memory.

Which colour did you get? Don't really want to get chavvy marble white, but the purpley-blue isn't exactly my thing either.
  • Deleted user 27 July 2012 14:26:28
I got the white one. It's quite nice actually, not as ridiculous as I thought it might be. I really didn't like the blue/purple colour and grainy texture combo.

32GB cards for just over a tenner too, can't complain.

Any issues with MicroSD card support? Can you just drag and drop to both the card and internal memory, or do you use software to manage your files? I've got a huge music collection that will probably take up all the card space, and will need to spill over into internal memory.

Apologies for the questions, just trying to get more info before taking the plunge!

Get a 64gb card then. No issues with drag and drop, no additional software required

    Come and get it cumslingers!

  • Deleted user 27 July 2012 14:47:23
Yeah you can just use Windows Explorer to shove stuff wherever you want. You can buy 64GB cards too but they're a wee bit more expensive.

A word of warning though. It's not as simple as iOS it has a million options you can play around with and you probably should to get the phone working the way you want it to.

I think thats the case with most android phones though compared with simple unified commie iphone land.

    Come and get it cumslingers!

After owning an iphone for 4 years, swapping to an S3 has blown my mind.... It's just so much more flexible, the amount of options and settings are slightly baffling at first but like anything you get used to it. The drag and drop element to organising your files and not needing to convert every single video to a playable format is a joy!

After just a month, I can't see myself returning to an iphone anytime soon and I thought it was the greatest thing ever just a short time ago.

Might look at 64GB cards then, if I can get a decent speed one for a good price.

The flexibility of Android is a definite pro for me, although there's something to be said for having a simple, unified OS that doesn't need much fiddling around with - I got fed up of wasting time "tweaking" stuff years ago. But, I do like the look of Android now, and it's only recently that I've seen phones that can do it justice and match the responsiveness of iPhones, so I might as well give it a try.

Yep, not a big Dropbox user though (the free 2GB is plenty for work documents and stuff). Can't see me using it for bigger files like music, video etc.

More for the automatic Camera Upload facility, if that's your bag. The S3 has this new burst mode camera feature, takes 20 photos at a time!

iPhone owner of 4 years, though have just recently swapped.

Initially, it's all very confusing compared to iOS, but you do get used to the endless menus. I actually quite like the look and feel of the phone, though it can be a little annoying when you have to reach something in the top hand corner of the screen - such is the size. The screen isn't retina display sharp, and it is noticeable when looking at text. Screen size does make up for this, though.

The camera is ace, more than competent enough to replace a point and click snapper and there is almost no shutter lag. Don't think the optics are as good as the 4S, but the array of options available more than make up for it. My biggest criticism would have to be how utterly dog shit the stock keyboard is, it's terrible. Plenty, much better keyboards about on the Android Play Store, mind.

Really like the look of Jelly Bean, and I'd prefer to have "pure"Android rather than the Samsung TouchWiz interface. Just not confident enough to blast on yet. :-S

It's a lovely peice of kit, and I haven't missed my iPhone too much. Some things I prefer on the iPhone, sure, but they certainly aren't deal breakers. Cracking phone.

    Hated, adored, never ignored.

AaaaaHahahahahahaaaaa! I swear I honestly couldn't remember you when I posted earlier - it was just a casual bit of silliness I threw in for the heck of it. I barely post in the forums.

That you DO remember an apparent past altercation and that you even linked it is awesome, bless your cotton socks :-)

My laugh was an Ash from Evil Dead II sort of laugh. Not the manic sarcastic variety like yours, but the projectile laughter brought on at the sight of his own hand stepping on a mouse trap. Hope that helps.

I actually have a 64GB card which I've not opened and used yet (because I hadn't decided whether to keep the S3 or not)...

I'm (probably) keeping the phone now, so might try the card tonight.
