Had mine for a few days now and love it.It's such a HUGE improvement over the iPhone.Being able to play all the old MegaDrive and SNES classics with a wireless PS3 pad is a massive bonus.

    Just ordered one of these:

@Boab - Thanks. I downloaded and bought Poweramp yesterday and I think it is excellent so far, especially as it has a superb equalizer with a pre-amp that can be boosted to +12 db and it automatically starts playing from the last track when I insert the earphones into the socket. That makes it easier to use the phone as an MP3 player when I leave home in the morning and work on a night as I simply put the phone in my pocket and then use the little remote thingie on the earphones to pause the track until I'm ready to listen to it. Unlike RealPlayer, this seems to work properly when I double and triple press the pause button to skip forward and backwards. Wish I'd known about this first though as I have bought RealPlayer and Winamp!

@Darren You should be able to install most things to SD card, not sure if there's a way to default to that but if you go into settings and look at an application there should (in many cases) be an option to move it to SD card. This doesn't apply to all apps and I think in a lot of cases some files are still left on the phone, but a lot of it can be put on SD.
I've found out that you can only move apps and games to the SD card if you root the phone (so even those apps that supposedly move them do not work) and that is not something I'm prepared to do on a new contract phone I've just got.

@Mr-Brett - The S3 has around 11 GB of usable space free on its internal memory but it soon goes once you've downloaded a few of the Gameloft 1 GB+ games.

What is especially annoying me at the moment is that I cannot download Real Racing 2, a game I bought a few weeks ago, as it halts at 97% every time, regardless of whether I have 1.2 GB or even 2.2 GB free. The installer claims the game is 800 MB in size yet when I exit it, once it gets stuck at 97%, I find that I have just a few KB of memory left! I have no idea how large this game actually is and how much memory it needs but it appears to be over 2 GB. Has anyone got this game installed on their S3? I'd appreciate it if you could tell me how much space it actually requires please. Thanks.

I've found that those massive Gameloft games seem to fail to download and/or install anyway even when I have the space. They are unnecessarily large though, most XBLA games are smaller, it says poor optimisation to me. I've ended up refunding them even though they were only 25p.

    Portable view - Never forget.

Right, I just ordered a white one.
Can anyone recommend a case as thin and as invisible as possible?

    this one?

It doesn't sound great tbh, I don't really want a flip case anyway, just thin protection for the back and sides to compliment a screen protector.

Copped a feel of my mates titanium S3 yesterday, wow it was n-i-c-e! The only misgiving I had about my Galaxy Note was the plastic case and the titanium case solves that. It had Jelly Bean on it, but I didn't have the heart to tell him what absolute dogshit (imo) TouchWiz makes of the otherwise gorgeous OS. I'm so used to the sleekness of cm9 (not bunged 10 on the Note yet, back to the iPhone these days) I'd forgotten what a travesty TW is in comparison.

Still, gorgeous phone, and the brief use I had of it suggests that, for my hands at least, 4.8" screen is an excellent mid way ground between the admittedly huge Note (of which I'm still a fan) and smaller phones.

It really doesnt. Same as my galaxy note 2. Once you hold it they feel anything but cheap.

The back panel feels a bit flimsy when you take it off but when it's on the phone feels pretty solid and certainly not cheap.

Maybe common knowledge but I've only just discovered how to do this properly.

Basically if you have a PC switched on and connected to your xbox, it then let's you use all share to view whatever video/photo is displayed on your phone.

Doesn't seem to work when a pc isn't connected however. That said I'm really not technical when it comes to these kinds of things, so there may be some more obvious reason as to why it works/doesn't work.

Rocking 4.1.1 Jelly Bean now. Got an un-branded update for some reason despite being on a T-mobile contract.

Google now is already quite scary. Told me how long my journey to work would be this morning along with reminding me that Arsenal played rubbish last night!

Google now is interesting if a little wrong for me.

Tells me how to get home from work...but seems to ignore the fact that there is a station within 1 minute of the office and tells me to walk to another station 5 minutes away.

Also hasn't quite grasped the fact that I support man utd yet. Although that's probably cause we haven't played since Tuesday and I only turned on web history then.

I asked this in the Gnote2 thread but more people will see it here and since they're practically the same phone ...

After some accessories for the note, already got an OTG cable on the way.

Im after a decent MHL cable.  There's loads on fleabay but to be honest half of them can't seem to spell samsung so im not exactly confident in their wares.

    Can anyone recommend one?

Also, I'm after a decent pad for emulators, the wiimote just doesnt cut it.

Apparently a PS3 dualshock works really well with both SGS3 and the note Note.

As for the cable needs I'm not entirely sure.

Will any wired ps3 pad work?
Dont fancy dropping a load on an official pad just for a nostalgic game of mario or sonic.

Supposedly when wired and using anything past ICS, it should just straight up work. Unfortunately (and I really, really mean that) I currently have a Nokia Lumia 800 so I can't test the theory but have read in several places that it just straight up works.

If you want to use it wirelessly you need to download an app which requires root access.
