    I've only just started playing Black Ops. I can wait for this. Besides, I want to pick up the CoD that was release after Black Ops. £10 is my max price to pay for such games.

    On c&vg site about zombie mode

    Improved MP engine means more zombies

    It'll also be able to "handle a co-op tally double that of Black Ops 1's". Eight-player zombies mode?

    Strong sales of Black Ops' Rezurrection DLC pack has afforded the studio's zombies team some freedom to move. "Treyarch have given their zombie team free reign to do pretty much whatever they want with the mode regardless of the direction the campaign is headed in."

    It all defiantly looks and sounds interesting... But I'm not convinced they are making as big an effort as I'd like for them to break away from the awfully stale COD format. A lot of the trailer still looks to be 'on rails'.

    Whilst its good that their trying something new with Call of Duty, i cant help thinking what everyone else is thinking : it will simply be the same thing but re-skinned with futuristic weapons and Vehicles.

    Im also disappointed by the fact that they didnt keep the Cold War setting for Black Ops and maybe make the next Infinity Ward COD a futuristic one - the Cold War is really fascinating and they could have told some really good stories with the sequels.

    @Ultrasoundwave:

    As I understand it, the cold war is still there in single-player at least. The story switches between the 2020s and the 1980s depending on whether you're playing as Alex Mason or his son.

    I'm sure the horse-riding portion of that video is meant to be Alex Mason training and supplying the Mujahideen in 1980's Afghanistan (think Rambo 3!)

    The best we can hope for is a ham-fisted pastiche of every generic action film tha nobody remembers from the 80s and 90s.

    Woo-hoo.

    My concern is that the engine is beginning to look dated to the point where they might to struggle to make the future tech look convincing/real enough and the single player especially becomes even more forgettable.

    Like a lot of people i'm starting to get really sick of CoD even though I buy them every year. This looks and sounds promising though. I will remain sceptical that this is going to innovate somewhat but if it does I think it could be the best CoD since 4. I guess we'll have to wait until E3 to find out more.

    @monty2k

    That does sound more interesting i guess. Personally, ive never had any problems with the single-player stories in Call of Duty, especially Modern Warfare 1 and Black Ops.

    The multiplayer, however, is starting to show its age. Like Anthony_UK said, the engine is a bit dated (despite sticking to 60fps).

    If Activision announced that Black Ops 2 was running off a new engine which offers full destruction or other visual improvements i would be genuinely intrigued.

    CoD games won't get an engine upgrade anytime soon as Activision won't pay the extra money and allocate extra time to create one.

    They couldn't keep it at 60fps and push the graphics any further. The consoles do not have that kind of power. It wouldn't be possible unless they were willing to drop the resolution even further down from 1024x600, lose the anti-aliasing, and dis-engage the v-sync.

    And none of that would be worth getting rid of, for the sake of some destructable environments or sharper textures.

    COD trailers are usually quite cool but that was terribly boring and it now has the look of an average COD imitator. I think this might be a big nail in the coffin for COD itself, will still sell loads but much less than Activision hope. Not jumping on the bandwagon, the COD hype train is usually great but it's completely dead for me now and I suspect many others.

    Ya know what... I'm not hating it! I know it goes against everything we're supposed to believe, but I've always enjoyed the Treyarch CODs more - so I have some hope they'll do this right.

    @senso-ji

    Creating a new engine just for this gen now (and its ending soon apparently), would be sort of pointless.

    Creating anything innovative seems to have been given the same consideration...

    If God said “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you,” to Mary - does that mean he loves bukkake?

    Multiplayer reveal trailer is up:

    It looks like it's from the 360 version (from the button prompts). It looks a lot brighter than MW3 and also kinda looks like they nicked the drones and things from Homefront.

    Edited for faulty youtube link

    I hope the PC version supports pads. Black Ops did but MW3 didn't so whether it will or not is up in the air I guess.

    It more than likely will, WAW had it (although you needed to turn it on yourself in the console) and BLOPS had it (well expect for the menu!) so Treyarch are fairly good on that front.

    That MP footage looks kinda fun, I may actually be interested in COD again. Although as I just said in the story on the front page, Treyarch's tea lady did a real poor job last time. If it's not really playable for 3 or 4 months without a super computer I'll be in no rush at launch.

    COD Elite was Activision's experiment at turning COD into a subscription service and seems to have failed which is why (I guess) they removed it.

    Anyone know how Elite 2.0 is going to work ? Its not included in any special editions so will it just be available to buy on the xbox dashboard on black ops release ?

    Elite is free to all now.
    You will get all the premium stuff as part of that.
    Maps are no longer part of the Elite service and they are going back to doing four map packs. The Elite way of doing it divided the community too much. You can buy a season pass which gets you all the maps at a cheaper price than buying them individually.

    You dare to strike Scurrcules!?
