I'm assuming you meant DKCR? Never got a chance to play it on the Wii, so this is good news for me.

Solid dates for Fire Emblem and Luigi's Mansion, finally. Really looking forward to those two.

They didn't show a video as they wanna show it off in 3D, should be on the eshop now, but I can't get on because of a bloody update!
DKCR was good looking on the Wii, but could very well end up looking better on the 3DS with the smaller screen.

Hope they add more levels too.

    Edit : Meant 3DS

Yeah, disappointing at the end there, I was quitely hoping Retro were working on an original DKC game for 3DS in conjunction with their Wii U project.

Very much looking forward to the new Mario Golf and Mario & Luigi RPG though!

Agreed, very disappointed it's just a port with shittier graphics and a 3D effect.

Good news about a new Mario & Luigi RPG and the imminent release of Luigi's Mansion though. Hope they turn out good.

And yet you were bigging up the fact WindWaker is being ported to WiiU, a ten year old game. Fuck me, the last two Zelda games Nintendo will have released are both aging ports. Now they've started porting other parts of their back-cat.

I guess this is what happens when your formats have scant third party support, you rely on your in house titles and the developers can't produce these anyway near quick enough to give the illusion of anything remotely resembling a full release schedule.

I know you are just trolling Armoured Bear, but I found this remarkably stupid, even for you. The thing that sparked this comment was Donkey Kong Country Returns for the 3DS, a system that has great 3rd party support, just like every other Nintendo handheld. Nobody's wondering where all the 3rd party support on the 3DS has gone, because it has been there and continues to be there. And the port is couched in between eight or nine other new games they're bringing to the platform, not counting localizations of games they've already released. They did this twice before, on both the Gameboy Color and Advance, with Rare's Donkey Kong Country neither of which had a dearth of 3rd party content.

The most gratuitous example of porting to fill out the portfolio was on the Wii with the Gamecube selection, back in the period when the Wii still had tons of 3rd party support. If you want to add up everything they've done this generation, by the time Wind Waker and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D come out, they will have released a ratio of new games to ports or remakes that is somewhere around 8 or 10 to 1. Sony, who also doesn't have much of a problem with 3rd party support on the PS3 did with it God of War, Team Ico's games and Sly Cooper, among other prominent HD remakes.

In almost of these cases, its a small part of a much bigger umbrella of new games from these companies. It's a quick way to bring new content to the platform, usually doesn't take much away from making new games and very easy to ignore if you've already played it or don't want it. It makes for laughably silly troll material. Anyone who complains about this needs to shut the fuck up.

You don't see the difference between a very recent game that millions of Wii owners have played that will have inferior graphics and a 10 year old game that a huge number of current owners won't have played that is receiving a huge visual boost as well as gameplay changes?

I won't be able to watch, so I'll just wait until people translate the interesting stuff :) Third-party support on 3DS hasn't been as much of a problem as I thought it might so far, but it's still nice to see that sort of thing take the spotlight for it's own show.

Lots going on today, as you can see by the advert at the top of the page there will be a European 3DS Direct at 3pm today with a "new announcement"

At the same time in Japan they they have a Luigi based Nintendo Direct which is apparently covering new information on Nintendo 3DS and first-party Wii U titles, as well as next week's Wii U update.

Aren't they in danger of tiring people of Mario at this rate? They are literally churning them out now.
