    Hi
after a drunken night out myself and about 6 of us have had a tune stuck in our head. The only problem is, none of us know what it is.

One of us found the song at the start of this episode of come dine with me...
    http://www.channel4.com/programmes/come-dine-with-me/4od#3310778

The painful fact is, shazam, soundhound etc cannot recognise it.

If anyone recognises it, you'll have freed up about 25% of my brain,

    Thanks

it's not lyrics, it's a tune played with an organ at the start, series 25, episode 78

It sounds kind of like the horrors, to me?!

I have to sit through four adverts just to get to the episode? That's taking the piss a little bit, isn't it?

Then the Channel 4 ident, then the sponsor bumper. And it's presumably none of those songs.

A probably very easy one, but I can't for the life of me think of the name or the artist. It's an old song. It tells the tale of someone who defeats death and lives forever, I think there is a wall mentioned somewhere near the end of the song with names on it and his isn't there. Most of the way through the song he seems pretty happy with his status, but by the end of the song everybody else in the world is dead and he's left alone forever.

It's really bugging me, because I know I used to love this track.

Nope, it's older than that. Probably 70's rock.

Is it "God Save The Queen" by the Sex Pistols?

EDIT: I don't think it is after listening to it again.

    @mrpon

You're a star. The Killing Hand by Dream Theater.

I remember it being a lot older than that. Brilliant tune.

I have a song in my head that I want to listen to but I don't know what it's called, I don't know who it's by (I think it's Van Halen) and I don't know any of the words or The Chorus or even what it's called. All I have is the tune in my head and I fear that it will be forgotten in a matter of minutes!

It's 80's and it has an intro with one of those voice distorting thingys like 'Living on a Prayer' - infact it sounds very similar to that song.

    Best. Description. Ever!
