I've had frequent audio dropouts on the opening few minutes. Will try an install to see if that fixes it. Have to say the visuals are astonishing for a 360 game, looks absolutely gorgeous.

Only just got to "the jungle" good fun, lots of hand holding still. The soundtrack is breaking up badly at certain points. It is not a deal breaker, but still a bit annoying.

Played a few games of MP...I'm shite of course

Does it need an install then? Looking forward to playing it soon. Probably tomorrow as tonight is already planned out.

Hope the mp is a bit less laggy than 2's. That was fun, but annoying.

Getting some major audio glitches all over the place on the 360 - crackling, audio breaking up etc. in third level and had other glitches too - AI getting stuck in bushes and another AI character who just disappeared in front of me.

Enjoying it though and yes, it looks stunning. Can't wait to run through it on the PC in a few months when its cheaper.

Install didn't fix the sound issues, still experiencing frequent annoying drop outs. How the fuck do these things get past testing?

Maybe they fucked up the mastering of the retail disks? Best way to describe my sound issue is "corrupted audio".

/ Raises hand and waves o/

Another person with audio problems here. I started off with some MP and no issues there. However, on the campaign, as soon as I got to the jungle things went wrong.

When Psycho goes a bit nuts (how ironic) and starts waving and screaming at that turret-thingy in the sky, it all went to shit. His lip-sync messed up, the audio started crackling and then started skipping.

Looks like Crytek have an early patch on their hands....

I'll bet now that the audio is something that will never get fixed.

Playing it on Normal difficulty, died a few times but kind of wish I wasn't such a puss and went for one higher.

    1. Maybe not everyone is getting them (a situation that might have occurred in QA too).

    2. QA is aware of it but EA did not deem it worthy of fixing straight away.

^^ It seems that everyone in this thread IS getting the sound bug though. 360 version at least.

Well remember crisis 2 had that fucking awful night vision static effect for the whole game so this doesn't surprise me!

    You dare to strike Scurrcules!?

Played for two hours on Xbox, zero sound issues. I have the game installed.

Game pretty average so far. Looks pretty but enemies are very dull.

Crysis 2 had audio bugs to, and graphical bugs, and buggy AI. It was a bit of a mess until they patched it.

So does anyone actually need an online pass to play mp?

That never got fixed, right? That along with the fucking Crytek DX10/11 full screen vsync issue that has persisted since Crysis just beggars belief.

Apparently not. Didn't have one on Crysis 2 either.

I think the lack of online pass thing is down to Crytek being able to choose whether or not to have it as they're a partner of EA rather than an EA studio.

Aaaahhhh, that's the only reason I bought it! Would have love filmed it otherwise!

Oh wow there's no dx9 support in the PC version and yep Crysis 3 still has the usual Crytek dx10/11 vsync issues that have been around since 2007. I'll pick up the 360 version if and when the sound problem gets fixed.

I assume the PS3 version is still running at 240p or whatever so fuck that.

Okay Crysis 3 straight up isn't triple buffered at all, so use D3DOverrider. That's a new level of spastic from Crytek.

Apart from the bit where they forgot to add a game?*

*Spent most of crisis running away from a chopper :)

It's just gimmicky Crytek shenanigans not offering dx9 support. The same shit happened with Crysis back in the day but it was pretty straightforward to get most of the dx10 bling back with simple config tweaking. Then there was the Crysis 2 dx11 AMD blowup because Crytek farmed that out to Nvidia.

    eurgh

Yeah, those minuscule differences that only people who hate games see :)

They're all shit games in an less impressive engine that we've seen.

@Ultrasoundwave I had major stuttering in the cg intro for both sound and motion, and then here which is when I chose to install it. Went back and it was fine. I haven't had any problems since (360).
