I DEMAND JUNGLE!!!!
Seriously. Crysis 2 was ok and I had fun with it, but I recently went back to the first and it's like a gazillion times better. And it's because it's set in a jungle. -

Registered 4 years agoI did not care for Crysis 2.
3 needs to be set against the gentle beauty of the English countryside. You should be able to stealth past enemies on an ancient bridle path, and then enjoy a pint of warm beer in a tavern.
I'd buy that. -

Registered 8 years agoI loved the second more, but mostly because of the powers. They aren't far different but I liked them. Crysis is all about the suit for me, keep that fun and I'm all for it
Not fussy about the setting. I preferred the city, but the jungle has it's charms. Kirby is the man! Even if he wasn't, he'd just ingest and become one.

I was really surprised by the second one. I didn't enjoy it anywhere near as much as the first one, but it was still really really really good. I'm intending to replay it on PC when I get a chance (having played on 360 a couple of months ago).
What I liked about it was that it sacrificed the total freedom of Far Cry and, somewhat less so, Crysis 1 but replaced it with arenas that were really tightly designed to complement the suit abilities. It was actually a joy to discover a new area and decide how you were going to clear it.
But yeah - back in the jungle. Tropical paradise ideally, although Far Cry 3 might've ploughed that furrow too much by the time it's released. -

Registered 10 years agoMy guess is actually a range of environments as you progress, which would be good. -

Registered 3 years agoIt's set in New York again, but a New York thats been largely destroyed and overrun by the jungle apparently.
Sounds like a mix of 1 and 2. Which could be good if they get the balance right. I just hope it feels different enough from 2.

Registered 2 years agoAs long as they don't make it too funnelled like crysis 2 was. I can kick cars across roads, but can't kick in that door cos you want to herd me down this corridor and not let me approach the next set piece the way I want to, you know like the freedom you gave us in the first one.
Apart from 2 set pieces near the end just used the same tactic through the game, kill, stealth, let his mate wander over then rinse and repeat on the hardest level. Dodgy enemy ai, quite shocking in places, favourite was the enemy soldiers walking into wall non stop ignoring what was going on around them. Just walking into the wall, then walking on the spot facing the wall.
MP I enjoyed , even if I was crap at it. Liked the balancing of suit powers during the match
Overall I enjoyed the game, was plenty of niggles with it after playing the first. Also the main theme music I loved, couldn't get it out of my head for ages. -

I love the suit voice. MAXIMUM ARMOUR.
Having said that, I always found switching between modes a little awkward.Follow me on Twitter: @MrTom

Registered 9 years agoI really liked the second game, one of my favourite fps' of the generation. I worked on the first so I hate it by default though I have bought the 360 remake to play it through at some point, just need to get through everything else first... -

Registered 10 years agoOne thing I liked in Crysis 2 over Crysis, on 360 at least was the running speed. You either walked so slow or wasted power sprinting in Crysis. Don't think it was like that in Crysis 2, which is very forgettable other than shooting things.
MAXIMUM ARMOR obviously

Registered 6 years agoWith such a short turnaround this stinks of a COD "sequel" so same game practically is my guess, I really wouldn't expect much more over 2 than that really out of place bow & arrow.
Really not that bothered about another one myself (didn't bother finishing 2!) but come in to share some info with you guys who are interested. According to Cevat on Twitter, info on 3 is incoming on Monday. -
It officially exists! Out Spring 2013 on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Registered 10 years agoThought the second was great myself loved it, as for more I can live with that not sure why New York again though is it so they can just use the same models/textures etc for a faster release?Everybody has secrets, life would be boring without secrets, don't you think...?

Registered 10 years agoLets hope a Cevit Yerli game doesn't think too much of himself this time around. The Crysis 2 story, dialogue and presentation was embarrassing.
Shooting was great fun though.

Registered 8 years agoIt's probably got some jungle stuff in it to cover up the fact that they are reusing the assets as well, hell even the suit looks identical, you would of thought it would be showing some signs of damage by now."If we hit that bullseye the rest of the dominoes will fall like a a house of cards, checkmate." @WoodenSpoon Same here. Second one started ok, quickly turned to shit. Not a patch on 1 and Warhead. Not even technically.

Take a deep look at that, now that is what i can call a NEXT-GEN engine. Knowing the great optimisation capabilities of Crytek this demo can run at 30FPS on most modern graphics cards, this looks absolutely amazing.
We're closer than ever to the early 3D pre-rendered movies, waouh that was so beautiful!

Registered 11 years agoSlightly odd statement to make. And whilst Crytek are game-engine gods, optimisation does not perform miracles. The 360 and PS3 versions of this game will exhibit none of the fine fidelity shown in that demo, just very rough approximations.
Given the Samaritan demo was said to run on a single GTX 680, that should hold you in good stead for approaching what's on show. Best go GTX 690 just to be sure though yer?

Registered 2 years agoWell this is not what i exactly meant by good optimisations, in fact the console's API doesn't even support these features, i'd say that running the game on a GTX680 at 60FPS in 1080p at the absolute max settings would be a nice target to hit, although as i previously said, this demo looked fairly impressive, and the overkill optimisations are obviously not what they're aiming for.

How are they gonna get this running on consoles? When i saw vid i assumed it was ps4 xbox 720. Though crysis 2 was made from ground up on consoles i believe.dont really care if they are rushing out with similar levels as i think 5 years between sequels is waste ie gran turismo 5.if they can get out game quickly great look at assasins creed with yearly "updates" and still great games
