Why do you need 15 games installed at once? I can barely rotate two games at a time..
Well because I like having a large library of games available to dip into. I have 435 games installed on my PC by the way so 15 on the PS4 is nothing! :-P

Of course, if all the games didn't require full installs then this wouldn't even be an issue.

Did you guys use the HDMI that came with the console or stick to the one you had?
I've used the HDMI cables that came with my PS4 and Xbox One even though I have a spare ones lying around. I always prefer to use the power and video cables that come with the new hardware.

I'm not quite sure why but it might be because I like everything to be official and new. It's why I never buy third-party accessories for consoles.

Sooo... Downloads are failing on my PS4 as they did most of the time on my PS3. They never ever failed on my Xbox 360, like never. I think they are corrupted, dropping packets or something. NAT type 2, so could this be a MTU issue? I have it as automatic which I assume is 1500? Should I lower it?

Whenever i had an MTU issue i think the default was 1458 or something like that? It may have changed recently though so don't know how much use this is!

FWIW i'm on NAT Type 2 on mine and it seems to download / install ok?

It's a handy checklist for the burglars when he's on holiday with Mum & Dad.

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

Cheers. I think I know the optimal one, but I am giving it one last go then will fiddle with MTU. It's just weird and very frustrating.

Same here. Downloaded DC Universe which was 38gb or so.

No issues on any downnloads to date.

I agree with stuff like controllers, charge packs, old analogue cables, etc., but you can bet that the HDMI that comes with the PS4 was sourced by Sony as cheaply as possible and it obviously isn't propitiatory, so it makes no odds where you bought it, as long as it works.

Got the download to work, I'm talking about the 300mb system update btw, so I am still doubtful when it comes to 38gb games. Currently downloading the update for FIFA so let's see how that goes! ;)

Yeah i think it may get a little warm (not cook your eggs on it warm) but stays pretty quiet. As long as it's well vented you should be good to go.

Modern technology eh! Back in the day you could whack your stack system packed away in a unit and not worry about it melting ;)

Boot up in safe mode maybe? And try re-syncing your controllers / devices? Re-install the firmware if that's a possibility from the safe mode menu?

Is there such a thing as a 48 hour PS+ code and does anyone have one to spare?

I thought the space was going to be an issue (I too like to keep games installed), but after seeing just how the console handles installs (pop in disc, wait a minute, play), I've no qualms about deleting stuff if needs be and reinstalling at a later date, it's beautiful how it handles things.
Have to agree. Whilst I think 500gb isn't great given the standard size the games are coming in at (30gb+) installs are handled perfectly by the PS4. You can get back in the action almost immediately from a fresh install. Great feature! Kudos Sony.

Tried the Doki-Doki Universe demo and quite liked it for its quirky-ness.

Has anyone bought it and played further? Does it develop more, or is that it? I enjoyed the wee bit of tutorial world I played, but reckoned it might get a bit tired in time if that's all there is to it.

    @Zizoo

NAT Type 1 = Connected directly to Modem (PS4 is public facing).
NAT Type 2 = Connected to Router
NAT Type 3 = Connected to either with connection issues.

I discovered this when trying to hunt down the reason for the AC multiplayer saying my NAT Type was moderate even though my PS4 was the chosen DMZ device on my horrible Virgin Superhub.

I think a lot of people (like me) wrongly assume NAT Type 2 is moderate/limited connectivity.

    HDMI CEC

Go to settings, system, enable hdmi device link.

Depends on TV compatibility, plus you may need to change something in the TV menu.
    I'm using a Sony Bravia, hopefully it'll work. I'll take a look in a bit. Thanks :)

Soooo... Booted after every match on Fifa 14. Error CE-34878-0. I googled and it's common. So much so that Sony have acknowledged it. I have deleted the game reinstalled and downloaded the patch again.

Has anyone else on here had this problem?

Yay, they've finally patched the janky framerate in NFS: Rivals and the game now feels supremely smooth to play, even when cornering. It makes it so much more enjoyable for me personally.

Now I just need a patch for the NBA 2K14 sound glitch and I'll be happy.
