Oh goody. Another overrated overquoted 'comedy' approaches.
  • Deleted user 29 March 2012 09:36:39
I still haven't seen the first one.

This. Ignore the angries. It's thoroughly enjoyable.

Obviously it depends a lot on your mood when you watch it. Personally I kind of felt that they had way more fun making it than I had watching it, but it was ok. Some good quotable scenes, but as a whole, a bit uneven.

Its a collection of scenes. Some dont work, some do brilliantly but in the main its hilarious. I genuinely cant see how someone could watch it and not enjoy it.

The only person I know who doesnt like it is my dad and he is the most miserable cunt on the planet.

Nick and Deckard are right. It's great, but the general masses have managed to ruin it a bit somehow, like they do.

Anyway, I'm glad there's a sequel, I thought it wasn't going to happen.

Yep, I love it. Never fails to make me giggle. Accept that as a film it might be a bit weak, but still very funny

I will concede that it is the nintendo of comedy films.

Actually, The Hangover is more like that, but you get the idea.

Yep, best way to describe it. It's a completely random film at times, first time I watched it I didn't think much, but I was compelled to watch it again a few days later and loved it.

This won't live up to the hype, though, as too many people will be going in expecting it to be the best comedy ever.

I confess, most of my hatred comes from people acting as though it were the funniest film ever.

Have they never seen any other films? Jesus Christ.

It's the Shawshank of comedy films. Insomuch as, hardly anyone saw it at the cinema (I did, I was laughing when no one else was too, so there), yet now everyone loves it somehow.

We have these wondrous devices now that allows to watch these films in our own homes. Watching them in a cinema is purely optional. :-)

It was on BBC3 last night so it's probably on IPlayer for anyone that hasn't seen it.

FWIW I think it's a classic and even when you almost know the script by heart it's still hilarious. Not sure how excited I am about the prospect of a sequel though.

    OVERRATED FILM GETS SEQUEL

Perhaps I needed to have been drunk when I saw it.

I love lamp is the worst line in the movie imo, yet it's the most quoted by the masses.

Really looking forward to it, was in stitches seeing it in the cinema originally, and it's stood the test of time also.

Hopefully they just keep it in the same vein as the original and don't try and make it too elaborate.

I was more getting at the success through word-of-mouth thing both have shared.

Is it cool to hate Anchorman nowadays? I'm all with hating stuff just to seem different, but a line's been crossed here, Anchorman is fucking awesome and a sequel is to be welcomed unreservedly.
