    Taylor Swift - Reputation.

The best song is one called "this is why we can't have nice things". I think it's an explainer for the quality of the rest of the album.

Yup. I 'member the video. First person 90s misogony with a twist...

...if you like the Prodigy and were interested in NiN maybe try this...

    https://youtu.be/rCweSyNChDM

Essex chums of the Prodigy from the early 90s with a bit more of an 'industrial' sound.

EDIT: it is a slow build... it is really worth waiting for the last 60 seconds 😜

2nd EDIT: check that link out. The v2 version.

I should have tipped this ages ago:

    Uncle Ray's Psychedelic Soul podcast.

It is a San Francisco hip-hop, soul, rock, funk, groove mix that just hits my spot.

Give it a google and check it out. It makes me happy.

I'm listening to inane dribblings of work colleagues discussing what baby deer meat is called.

    I'm losing IQ points.

One day I will stop listening to them, Radiohead and Interpol on repeat and branch out. Naaaaah no need.

    @challenge_hanukkah

Deer meat, as you note, is called venison. Baby deer are called fawns.

There is no term for fawn meat, however. This is likely because people do not generally eat it: In most countries, the US included, it is illegal to hunt deer under a certain age. Moreover, deer are not domesticated and rarely husbanded, so there is no farmed slaughter of baby deer.

Arab Strap remix of a David Holmes.

Starts with yer standard Arab Strap chuntering. Nice. Then about halfway through Holmes' strings kick in. Lovely.

    Woop!

New release from Gnoomes. It is remixes of the Tschak album. Bit of a mixed bag on first listen - but some really good stuff.

They are pretty much my favourite band at moment. Home made psychedelic Russian techno thanks.

Disclaimer: some of the frequencies produced by the cold war era synths used may do unpredictable things to your speakers, dog and/or internal organs.

I love the outtakes of Cold Bitch and Blind Dogs on that, and the live versions of Incessant Mace and Hunted Down. As each month goes by his death is only just sinking in... it hit me hard, and still continues to hit me hard. The guy provided my soundtrack of the last 20+ years :( I don't know if it was the complete shock of it, but it's the hardest thing I've tried coming to terms with outside of family. I'm in a sombre dwelling mood as we approach the end of a pretty shit year :(

    King Crimson - Epitaph

Fucking boss of a song. There's a little drum fill at the 7:09 mark that always gets me.
