Affector - Falling Away and the Rise of the Beast

Awesome, Christian prog-metal. Guitarist certainly can shred.

A 10/10 record that closes with its best track? Yes Please! (it's Bill Bruford's ' Adios A la Pasada').

    Dexter Gordan - ballads.

Going through a mellow jazz phase at the moment (mellow, not "smooth";). I find it festive and calming.

The taps are pretty straight forward and slow at the start but there's some good arpeggiation and leads later going on while some guy won't shut up talking. Song's terrible too - guitars are the only thing of note in the song. And the bass, that does some pretty good bits - reminds me of Death / Control Denied in places. Silly lyrics, but if I'm honest no sillier than most dragonbumming lyrics.

    I'm a grumpy bastard.

Currently listening to Scott Walker's latest, just brought back from the shop.
    Love the lyrics :

    "RACK OFF!
    from this ravished
    slather!

    "Keep your
    vile rattus
    small adult
    hand
    to yourself".

    "Take your
    turnshoes
    and wobble".

    "Turnshoes
    and wobble".

    (...)

    Then suddenly,

    there's hissing
    on the gumbo.

The Village OST by James Newton Howard. Disappointing flick, stunningly beautiful soundtrack.
