    Greetings EG masses,

I had the joy of attending a few Geekmeets in that there London town between 2005 and 2008, whilst I was living in the UK.
I've taken the first week of April off to visit some friends over in Blighty, so I figured I'd arrange my own mini-geekmeet for a chance to catch up with a few forumites over a pint.

Tuesday April 3rd, Bunch of Grapes
    2 St Thomas Street, Borough, London . SE1 9RS
    near London Bridge station.

I can be there from late afternoon or early evening, depends on what time people think they'll get there. I think I'll aim for being there about 5pm.

Edit: Venue changed from pub near Euston to pub near London Bridge.

Unfortunately that date's in the spring school holiday, I think, so I'm already booked up. Have a good one though!

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

    Euston? We have a problem.

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

Yeah quite likely, it's the week right before Easter.

I'd be up for it, but I would need reminding nearer the time so I could scrawl it on a hand. Anything not written on the hand tends to get remembered several hours after it would have been useful to remember it.

I'll bump this when early April comes around. Whizzo, TT, Rubyred & Spanky will possibly make it as well. And maybe Tiger_Waltz.

For now, I can't think of reason why not. And the diary says I have nothing planned. :) So yeah, I should be there.

Excellent, stick it in your diary then. =)

LeoB, cool. I don't think we met before but I assume you'll recognise some of the other people. If not, go for the geeky looking bunch.

I will also need a reminder but I'm up for it. Why Euston though? Place is a shit hole, also an arse for me to travel to.

You are a factory of sadness.

Deckard is a man who has typed 'rape trap' enough times to know whether or not it's hyphenated.

Hmm. You're putting quite some pressure on me now Db. :-)
I won't know what shoes to wear.

I picked Euston because it's the one place I remember attending one of these EG drinks (in the crown and anchor as well) there was one near London Bridge somewhere (function room on first floor) and some other pub more central that I don't recall. I figured Euston might be easy as it's near public transport.

I wouldn't worry about rape to much although I think EvilTobz had a mugging attempt returning from the pub on one of these geekmeets. =)

I don't mind where it is to be honest. I'm staying at a friend's place in Streatham, so I'm pretty sure I can get home from anywhere in London.

Any suggestions for something more central?

I believe they've moved the bogs in the Rising Sun, Goodge Street, so you no longer have to sit outside the gents if you want a seat. I prefer pubs a bit east of there these days, but I dunno what's open at the weekend there.

Wow, the rising sun. I used I go there almost every night after college about 10 years ago, that and the windmill before it turned into an office block. was a real sanctuary for bag theft.

    @Facepalm

I think there's better pubs. What about that long one near Paddington Station...or was it Piccadilly?

My first drink in that pub in Euston was ruined by some loud cockney's that decided they were going to 'have it large'...at 12pm. :-(
