Do, if you like the look of them then there's bugger all chance you'll be disappointed. They play and control as good as they look.
will do. Wiis are like 20 used and i could get the Mario games for a tenner each so basically i could get the whole lot cheaper than a full priced current gen game.

@Ryze the reason i haven't bought a Wii is because of the motion controls. i don't mind the SD graphics but motion controls are a big no for me. but i think i'll suck up my pride and get the console.
Get a Gamecube controller and a classic controller. Both cost less than a tenner new on eBay.

Also, let me know where you can get the Mario games for a tenner each. PM if need be.

I always thought stuff like this was a MASSIVE overreaction. Its not like you have to stand in front of the TV and jump around. Having played Zelda TP, SMG 1 and 2, NSMBWii, MP trilogy and DKCR I can easily say that pretty much all of the "motion controls" stuff boils down to flicking your wrist every now and then. Thats it.

Seems like people got suckered into avoiding the system by watching Wii Play ads.

At least hating it for having shitty graphics is an understandable line of thought.

Some will go to their graves denouncing motion controls.

I'm still coming to terms with wireless controllers.

I recently bought the new Xbox media remote.

If your slightly off the base unit, it doesn't register any commands. I imagine them testing it right in front on an Xbox, yep it works, manufacture these bad boys. There is no way they tested this properly.

It's only a tenner now but I'm still annoyed that it is so unresponsive.

If you don't have direct line of sight to the Xbox, even a slight angle makes it useless. Don't buy one.

For what it's worth, my old style one is fine. Works like you'd expect a remote to work. That new one does look quite nice and fits better with other remotes, to the point I have to admit I was tempted, but not anymore given it's that bad.

Cheers for the warning oceanmotion :)

I have a broken 360 and no cash to fix it... time to ring Microsoft and see if their red ring of death aftercare continues to those outside the official time period...

My new style remote works fine from distance and various angles, I use it all the time for my 360 and my TV.

The remotes, like all remotes, are IR, and the sensor's not very big. So that'd be your issue.

As for my 360, it's very much gathering dust these days. Has a lot more to do with me being incredibly in debt than anything else though!

Or alternatively you could sell it for 20 on Ebay. People even buy 360's that don't work.

@Widge Okay, big generalisation I know. But standard media remotes are IR, with a small few being Bluetooth (which TBH would be better).

Not in the case of the PS3 where any button slightly nudged will turn the thing on no matter where in the living room it's pointed.

    Astoundingly irritating.

^ this. a power button wouldn't have gone amiss. turning the thing off with the remote is a faff - especially if your TV/projector's powered off for any reason.

I say projector, as they have a cooldown and startup delay, making turning them on just to see a Sonyfaff menu even more annoying.

Anyway - the 360 dash has since improved, but having this 'hater honeypot' thread title being bumped, doesn't really help anything.

    /bumps thread...

Ha, yeah the PS3's remote is really fucking annoying. It's a good job the beep it makes when it turns on is so shrill or there would have been many occasions I'd have had it on all day without noticing.

'hater honeypot' is a nice phrase. I've not heard that before.

Almost like some kind of troll trap. Nice idea. You could have a 'dummy straw man' maybe?

    One move ahead...!

Still running my 20GB first edition 360 after ? over 6 years ?, with an Xsata360 for backup. Never had any problems.

I just sold mine for a PC with infinitely better graphics, same controls, cheaper games.

360 is pointless these days unless you're halo tard, its not like the blue dragon/ mass effect/ lost odyssey days...

    @Armoured_Bear

The blue dragon days were the days you were at the peak of your single format fanboy psychosis. You went out your way to diss the 360 back then. That makes you equal tard.

You've only just got a gaming PC 2 days ago whilst everyone else has been PC gaming since the 90s and now you're trying to act like a PC elitist...good luck playing Forza Horizon and Halo 4 on your new rig.
