Registered 5 years agoPotential kickstarter tier rewards
Very tempted to try and talk the wife into the $75 tier. Probably not the best thing to do when we've just made a plan to cut spending completely to save for a house, though.GHOSTBUSTERS

PLEDGED OF $900,000 GOAL
17 DAYS TO GO
Apparently according to RPS : "if they can reach $2.1 million during the 17 days remaining on the funding schedule, they’ll be bringing in Obisidian Entertainment, including Planescape: Torment mastermind Chris Avellone, to help them make the game.""Assimilate this!" cried Worf, firing a space bazooka at the Borg.

Registered 4 years agoWell since Wasteland 2 is nearing the end of the kickstarter time, it's now got just shy of the 2.1 million target mentioned above.
Also our very own Arcam from Eurogamer is quoted on the Kickstarter page as saying "Shut up and take my money". -
Jesus Christ people, Wasteland reboot, how have I not heard about this???

Registered 8 years agoI've been lamenting how much games ignore the written word now that they have fancy graphics to do the talking for them. It's really nice to see a developer take advantage of the power of words like this game does. All those descriptions that come up at the text bar on the bottom are awesome. The graphics alone don't even manage a tenth of the atmosphere, or provoke the same kind of emotional and evocative reaction to the characters as the text does. So thumbs up on that!
However, a big, big thumbs down on the lack of color. The original Wasteland was a very colorful game. In an actual apocalypse, color will probably not die. A game does not actually have to be physically dark in order to be thematically dark. I hope to see the final game has bright and colorful areas as well because this trend needs to die and die quickly. It does the aesthetic absolutely no good and makes it seem like a gritty military FPS seen from a helicopter view.
Other than that, lots of stuff looks promising and juicy! I can't wait to play the final game one day! -
