The flow will have a note on a section that reveals key information so you'll know where to jump to.
Whenever I thought I had something worth remembering I took a screenshot.

I meant I don't like looking too far ahead when choosing where to jump to. Although I have since learnt that sometimes the end of the path you see isn't necessarily the end of it at all.
Annoyingly managed to miss 3 files along the way so can't platinum it.

Flow back and get them.
Flow chart tells you where you missed them so re do that Escape to get them.
I missed one where you read a screen to get some info. Reading it was enough to allow you the knowledge to escape but if you tapped the screen you picked up the exact same info for the archive file.
Flow tells where I missed them? I'll have a look tonight, nice one.

It was awesome! (But took a while to get into)
Loved it. Shame I took hours to figure out how the skipping and flow worked

I really do need to get around to playing this, unfortunately I bought the 3DS version so I have save-corruption fear. Enjoyed 999 and got through that pretty quick once I started (properly of course with all endings) Just finishing off Corpse Party and this remains an obvious next choice but... that bug... (I also foolishly did not buy PSNPlus when I got my PS3 last year (finally went for i this month) or I'd have had a free copy to play on my Vita, ho hum...)
Took a couple of hours to really bite but once it did, it didn't let up. A properly great game.
I think the 3DS version 'only' has the save bug in a few sections. If that's the case then maybe just avoid saving during those parts? Not ideal, but something.
It's a great series and I am very much looking forward to the next game, whenever it comes out.

Got 999 to replay soon, then will go for another run at this beaut. Really can't wait for the third game, whenever that comes out!
@PazJohnMitch Doing ok so far thanks (though have to admit I GameFAQed one puzzle - the numbers on the pervy scratch poster, with some being upside down... grr).
Reckon I'm about a third of the way through, in the middle of escaping the Rec room at the moment - like most rooms it's nicely laid out, but the puzzles are a little linear at times (the hardest one I've found so far was the crew nutrition puzzle). But I'm sticking around for the story!

@the_dudefather They deliberately made it less so for VLR but I think they said that they might go back to that for the third game due to feedback they received.
I generally solved the Gold file puzzle before the escape puzzle. Not sure if that means I am weird?
There was one puzzle that I found very obtuse and even after reading an FAQ it took me a long time to figure out how to derive the answer. (Suffice to say I disagreed with the explanation the FAQ gave).

It's not grabbing me.
It didn't for 3.5 hours. Then it did for about an hour. Then I realised that actually there is no consequence to my actions and that all I'm doing is solving some fairly simple puzzles for a different set of cut scenes, and lots and lots and lots of text, to play out.
I can't really alter anything, as although choices at first appear to have a consequence attached, you just go back to the flow and have to play the other route, in order to unlock the ending there.
I just don't get the love. It's rather quaint and a nice pace, but nothing about it is making me think 'I must plough in the 20 odd hours it'll take to unlock all of the different permutations'. I've seen three different endings now (or route endings at least) in 5hrs 25 mins, and not sure it's worth spending anymore of my limited gaming time on when I've got Sine Mora, Gravity Rush, Uncharted, Rayman Origins etc. all waiting to be played.
So finished it...
*double checks online just in case there is another ending*

When it started doing the even crazier jumps, it felt like they were building up to some kind of crazy climax, but I guess it's just a lead-in to the next game instead, and the game sorta gurgles to a stop
I was really gripped by the story up to a point, but it went off the rails a bit by the end
edit: Christ, walking through that map and waiting for elevators was the most tedious shit, but at least you didn't have to repeat puzzle rooms like in 999 (assuming you got the gold files on the first run through)

Loving this so far, about 5 hours in. Absolutely engrossed.
Anything else similar to this? I've fancied Corpse Party for a while, is that the same kind of thing?
Danganronpa is similar and highly recommended. Corpse Party is a very different kettle of fish- a gruesome horror game.

Corpse Party is horrible. Truly horrible. The sound effects, if played with headphones, could haunt you forever.....
You should buy it.
Is it the kind of novel type thing that VLR is though? Or have I got the wrong end of the stick?
