I wonder if one of the DB guys could say how many groups have had more than... I don't know, 20 posts in the last day.

The Forza group is alive and kicking. And the Diana Vickers group, obviously.

The problem with groups is, when they were first introduced there was no discretion involved in creating a group. Everyone was so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn't stop to think if they should.
The dead groups, by and large, are either topics so niche that no one but the group creator wants to discuss them, or were so mainstream that the bulk of the discussion remains on the main forum, which is how it should be.

Groups still exist, you just can't search for them any more under the pathetic excusive for a site revamp.

20 posts in the last month or even year would probably show how many are desolate wastelands.

Groups are a bit of an oddity, I can see the worth when discussing niche subjects away from tiresome trolls or if you want to fence off the tiresome trolling so as to not offend the delicate masses. A parallel sub-forum seems to be pointless and cliquey though.

The shot of Jack Klugman drinking beer while sitting at a keyboard is eerily prescient.

The codemasters F1 and the Forza groups are active, lots of people use groups to organise games.

If only this was true then there would be far less bollocks posted on the main site.
That doesn't make sense. Surely the reason more bollocks is posted on the main site is because all the cool kids hang out in groups and therefore don't cancel out the incessant noise of the proletariat?
I was assuming gremmi was being ironic in his use of "cool kids"

No, I was being quite literal.

Is there an amazing button which can tell you which are the busiest groups at the moment?

I want to know where all the cool cats bite and scratch and scream all night.

I like the look of that Vita Loansies group. 1 Member, who is apparently Flying_Pic, loaning his games to himself since the end of last month.

The "No to Micro-Transations on Full Price Games!" group looks like a doozie.
