No idea about HD as of yet.
That was because of licensing though, wasn't it? JSR was a commissioned soundtrack iirc.

    Also: \0/
Most of the songs were actually made by an in-house Sega studio, so there's really no problem. At worst, there's a couple of licensed songs that we may lose, which would still be a shame, but the majority of them are fine.

I really hope this shows Sega that there's still a market for games like this, even though they may not work as big budget console releases. We need Shenmue and Skies of Arcadia next.

Heh, I don't think that Shenmue can be anything other than a big budget title unfortunately. I'd love them to get back into this arcadey-type stuff like this.

More details: Widescreen, updated camera and presently 50% original soundtrack licensed with the remainder being worked on but there are issues with artists or studios including some no longer existing.

    9/10 on the front page.

I have 800 points (well, 890, to be precise) ready to go.

Good review. Looking at the other reviews that are presently up that are negative I have no idea what they're on but they need to stop.

With some hope, if this one sells well enough, Sega will maybe try to bring us Jet Set Radio Future!

Hmmmmm XBLA or PSN... I'm tempted by PSN due to the cross over with the Vita version.
  • Deleted user 19 September 2012 12:07:29
    What cross-over?

Anyone else getting frequent audio freezes, that also cause brief framerate pauses at the same time?

Makes some of the precise jumping very difficult!

So far from what I've read online, the Giant Bomb Quick Look was the only one to mention it.

Was EG's copy (Xbox 360, that's the version that was reviewed and that I'm playing), free of these glitches, or are we looking at an Oblivion/Fallout/Skyrim situation, where they're glossed over for some reason?

Also, no where seems to mention that the font when you pick up a Graffiti Soul is all squashed, as if it hasn't been stretched out for widescreen displays, rather compressed up for no reason.

I just saw the trailer for this on Steam, and I happened to see the WTF is THPS HD ("WTF have they done", as much! ) and...Get this. The trailer makes the game look great, and I can't wait to play. It looks so right!
    6 is the asking price.

Quick Look for Jet Set Radio HD! Stick around till the end for the game's attract sequence (now, that's some playing! )

I thought the commentary on this was very good and their getting an ex-GS person on the mic, who is familiar with the subject, and the presenters doing a little research added to it.

Is anyone else playing this on PS3 experiencing weird audio problems?

Basically, the audio (not all, but most) seems to be delayed. For example, when I jump on a rail and grind, the sound for grinding only comes after half a second, and then when I jump off the rail, the grinding audio stays for half a second. There are other things as well, such as the music for the 'You did it!' screen coming in a bit late.

It's nothing game-breaking, but really annoying, and I hope somebody at Sega knows about it so it gets fixed!

Just got this on Steam and its great. I was worried that my rose-tinted glasses would be in full effect, but it's still brilliant fun and still looks utterly charming to boot!

Online Highscore table too! Way to make an already addictive game even more so! :D

Yep, I'm playing it on the 360 and I was already getting audio glitches in the intro.

I was getting audio and game glitches (very brief pauses every few seconds) after about half an hour of play.

Hopefully it'll be fixed before the weekend.

I don't think Sega have ever patched an 'arcade' game have they? I certainly can't remember it.

I've not experienced the glitches you have mentioned though and have put a couple of hours in to it. Hmm.

Did the Bis track make the game, as I cannot see it in the music player, or am i thinking of JSRF ?

The reason I love these HD remakes is, they look like how you thought they would look through rose tinted glasses.

@alasdairm The Bis song was in JSRF :) It's a proper classic though!

The parts with Professor K do sound distorted. I think that was mentioned in the review. Sounds like the half life ps2 conversion

    Oh. Ohhhh.

    I'm just not feeling this.

I remember having JSRF and thinking it was ok, but I tried the demo of this and found it left me cold.
