Yes, the room gets cleared. If you're in a session and there's another right afterwards, you'd have to queue again. For Kojima, you're going to have to queue well in advance.

Yeah the chances of getting into a popular dev session after one you've just been in can be quite tricky as you'll be right at the back of the queue when you get out.

Quick questions about dev sessions - the ones where they are listed twice (such as "how to give yourself a job in the games industry), are those 2-part talks, or just a "second chance" for people who can't get to the first one?

    They're repeats.
  • Deleted user 24 September 2012 14:24:12
@psychokitten If that final bit is the case, then looks like I'll be giving the Far Cry 3 session a miss then. I'll go see Halo 4, hang around in the general area of the queue playing whatever games, then when the queue looks like it's getting a bit long, I'll wander over and it'll be free TShirt ahoy and basking in the glory of Hideo Kojima :D

I have to say that if you aren't in a position to deduce this, then your chances of giving yourself a job in the games industry are already fairly remote, so you could probably save yourself a bit of time by not going to either talk.

I don't believe games are sold at the expo, so feel free to leave your order intact (or indeed cancel it if you play it there and find out it's broken).

Phew! Finally found my Expo receipt in the pile of papers on my desk. That could have been awkward!

Actually I seem to remember EG announcing Game will be there, just like HMV had a stall last year. Don't expect any bargains.

In fact, you can expect the usual friendly GAME markup on any purchases...

Free T-Shirt when your pre-order XCom? Sure, why not.

I rely on the expo for my annual supply of T-shirts, and the ones I got last year have definitely shrunk in the wash, so it is time for some new ones.

I really liked the id ones last year - 20 years of id gaming. The trouble is, every time I look in the mirror it says 'bi'.

Going to dev sessions is the easiest way of getting free t-shirts, they tend to be handed out as you're in the queue.

    T-shirt tippage
    1) Find a member of the stand staff
    2) confirm you've played the previous version. Haven't yet pre-ordered this one
    3) get a demo. Be complimentary, say you'll definitely think about buying it
    4) receive t-shirt.

Also, look out for QR codes to scan. Bags of lootz behind desks, and don't be afraid to ask.
