Registered 11 years agoThis does look good, although part of me wishes they'd kept the full-screen pixel art from the GBA games. Those looked awesome!Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

Yep, but a couple of characters look familiar. I wonder if some previous heroes will be available as DLC characters?

Registered 5 years agoI read before that you play a character who has amnesia and you can play with permanent death on or off.

Me too, the simple graphics never put me off Fire Emblem or Advance Wars. It seems odd that they didn't release it here, even if the DS remake tanked, it's not like the previous GB/GC/Wii outings sold shedloads. Perhaps they thought it would detract from the shiny new one they were working on?
Good news

Yes, it apparently has a 'casual' mode. Can't blame them for wanting to attract new players, it's not as if it's hard for Fire Emblem veterans to just ignore it.

Registered 5 years agoI see they mention a bit of DLC at the end of that trailer. Seems like they are trying to make it good value for money but they have made it an early buyer incentive by getting the first set free. Bastards. -

Registered 1 year agoLast week's issue of Famitsu feautred elements of the new battle system. Mainly highlighting what they called "Duel System" where you get support from the characters in your unit to perfrom duel attacks.
The game will have a three settings; Normal, Hard and Lunatic.
Its a six-page feature and havent gotten around yet to reading it all. If anyone has questions I can probably answer when I've read it all. -

Registered 4 years agoGrand stuff.
It looks fantastic, easily better than Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn. Currently my most anticipated game this year. -

Registered 4 years agoI just find them endlessly replayable with different party members, and the turn-based gameplay makes it perfect on portables.
One of my favourite series, and it looks like there aren't any Laguz in it, even better!
FE is always better when it sticks to the magic and weapon triangles, the whole paper-scissor-stone aspect. -

Registered 11 years agoExcellent, all looks present and correct (though I can't remember if pair fighting was in Sacred Stones). Not sure if it has the ability to grind outside of the story battles as in Gaiden and Sacred Stones.Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

Registered 4 years agoThere wasn't pair fighting in Sacred Stones- it had support stat increases like all the other games.
It sounds like there will be some ability to grind outside of the story, but hopefully it won't be as broken as Sacred Stones. Maybe individual downloadable maps/bonus chapters? That might be cool as long as they don't take the piss with pricing.
For the uninitiated, SS has entire levels of high xp enemies that you can fight again and again, making it faster to level up outside of the campaign than in it! -

8 minute video showing lots of different classes
It got a 9/9/9/9 in Famitsu magazine and it sounds like its getting a lot of preorders in Japan, people are expecting it to sell a lot better then the other recent entries in the series. -

Registered 4 years agoFantastic stuff, the Gamecube/Wii versions didn't sell badly, but didn't sell as well as the portable ones either.
This is easily the game I'm looking forward to most this year, portable Fire Emblem games are my favourite kind of commute-fodder. -

Registered 4 years agoCan't get over how good it looks. Will be holding off buying it though until i've at least played the GBA version we were given. I've never played a Fire Emblem game before, so i've no idea if i'll enjoy it or not.3DS: 4210 4002 8289 (Dave)

Whatever you do, don't start the GBA version on hard mode. I did that as I almost completed it already once back in the day, but I can't even get as far as the first opportunity to grind without losing folk, and I don't like doing that.
Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!
