    Is it working in the UK? It's the big sell for me as I want to be able to play PS3 games whilst the missus watches shit TV!

    Yeah, it's working but there are very few games that take full advantage of it yet.
    All the titles that were "Remote Play" compatible with the PSP I believe are still compatible with the Vita.

    I'm yet to hear of any firm dates for PS3 patches to allow this. I've seen a lot of Killzone 3 videos, but no date for patches.

    I've seen a chap on YT load up a PS1 game.

    Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

    Balls. I'm not buying one until I know that this is up and running for all PS3 games.

    PlayTV is an interesting one, especially as you can remotely turn on your PS3 with RP. Might get some use out of it yet.

    Maybe so. Sony's loss. I don't mean to sound arsey but it is the only feature that would sway me in to buying one as I'm not a 'mobile gamer' but I am a grumpy couch surfer when bloody Vampire Diaries are on!!!

    Think I tried it when I first got a PSP and then never looked again when I picked up a PlayTV. What's the quality like over wifi?

    Can you use netlix through this? Or is there a netlix app for the vita?

    Can anyone help me? I'm trying to set up Remote Play using the PS3's wifi, as I don't have wifi broadcasting here - this is possible, isn't it? My PS3 uses a wired connection to the router. I can see the PS3 broadcasting on my Vita, and I've registered it, but when I try and connect directly to the PS3, it asks me for a hex password. I've looked under RP settings on the PS3 but it's asterisk'd out. Is there any way I can get the machine to display the pw? It's doing my nut in! Am I doing something wrong?

    Apologies if this makes little to no sense, as I'm pretty inexperienced when it comes to networking stuff! I've previously used my PSP for Remote Play over wireless (back when I had wireless), and the quality was dire, so I was hoping a direct connection would yield better results.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated, and would also stop me pulling my hair out!

    Steps should be:

    Register Vita to PS3 in Settings/ remote play (Will give you a code to enter on vita iirc)
    Start remote play on PS3
    Start remote play on Vita and choose private network

    @Kill_Crazy - I was choosing Connect via Internet. What a twat!

    I should have tried the other option before getting frustrated! Thanks.

    Vita can definitely do this for PS3 games - look it up on YouTube loads of hackers have games like infamous 2 running perfectly.

    Sony need to get the finger out or everyone will hack and it'll be PSP all over again (ie piracy destruction of the market).

    @chocnut

    Or they're running video and 'miming' the controls.

    @Ror1984

    No worries :)

    If its real and the memory cards will stop the piracy issue.

    Just tried this over an Internet connection. Obviously a pretty fuzzy XMB, but I was pleasantly surprised with the video quality of my PS3 stored movies etc.. No stuttering or buffering at all.

    Think I need to dig out the PlayTV after all.

    Figured I'd try out the remote play function as I could never get it to work on my PSP. I hadn't realised that hardly any games were compatible and tried to load up AC:R. Picked the wrong option and am now sitting here using my Vita to watch the first AC install (very slowly) on my PS3. What a plum...

    Just keeps saying check your PS3 remote play settings. But everything is fine with them. Vita devise recognised and autoamtic remote play is ON. Hate technology sometimes frustrates the hell of me!

    @NOSAVIOUR

    Have you changed Psn accounts to Download things since setting up remote play? I think you have to re-pair the two consoles if so.

    @Gambit1977 I have but I did re-pair again to see if it made a difference. I'll double check later though. Thanks mate.

    Think it says you need to use the same PSN account on both consoles.

    NOSAVIOUR: Have set up remote play on the ps3 and vita but can't connect via Internet or private network. Anyone know why this may be? Cheers

    I'll guess that it is because (unlike the PSP) the Vita can only use remote play through a router whether LAN or Internet (rather than directly PSP to PS3 using adhoc).

    Then I suspect like most people you have your router using a DHCP server (dynamic IP allocation) and a DNS server (for name to Ip address resolution) but haven't set either uPnP active on both network connections for the PSV and PS3, and/or have uPnP turned on in the router.

    Alternatively, the easier solution (imo) is to avoid changing anything on the router, and manually set the DHCP names on both the PSV's network connection (to psvita01) and on the PS3's network connection (to ps3slim01), and then re-pair the devices again, so the pair knows how to make a connection to a named device.
