    Can't wait for this.

How big is the demo? Is it a single mission?

I don't know why, but I can't wait to try this demo. I just to wait for Play.com shitty delivery to pull through.

This is pretty cool. I've done the first couple of missions and 5 starred both, but serious improvements can be made to the scores. I'm not particularly good at aiming when my missions go loud, I'm better at the stealthy approach but familiarity with the sticks will help that.

Impressed by how well the twin sticks work and coop should be fun with coordination.

Yeah I'm in, demo was excellent - although I wish they had an option to turn on the motion controlled aiming as in Uncharted.

I imagine the points system in this will be highly addictive, probably quite a challenge to complete a stage perfectly etc.

It depends what "perfectly" is, and i genuinely dont know. As I said, I've 5* the two missions I've done so far and I fucked up in a few places (causing firefights) and died once or twice. My score can certainly go higher but I need to get better at the aiming. I'm currently 8th on the global leaderboard on one of them.

I like the mission menu structure. You have the grid of all the levels, which is something like 10x3, and when you complete one it unlocks any that are vertically and horizontally adjacent, so you always have a few options of missions to play rather than just the next one numerically.

I'll play a bit more at lunch and report back.

Yeah agreed, perfect is not a good word - I guess what I meant to say is getting 5*. If the difficulty ramps up and it's hard to get 5*, that adds a lot of enjoyable replay value.

Derblington, how are you playing more than 1 mission and on the leader boards? Do you have the full version? I thought it wasn't out yet.

The different game types are cool. I've done a Direct Action, Covert, Deadline and Elite so far, and they all play a little differenty.

Deadline is very different - you're on a time limit and can go be as noisy as you want as long as you get the job done. Bonuses for killing everyone, accuracy, etc.

Elite I like - you have no health regen, no time limit, and have to elimate 2 targets. Getting to them stealthily and then escaping is cool as you have to plan everything; too much damage = death, = restart mission (most have checkpoints).

Oh yeah... Elite sounds brilliant. I assume all modes can be coop'd?

Great demo, not really my type of game, but shows off what the Vita can do.

I do believe so, I don't know anyone else with it to try it out.

Every mission comes in 2 varieties too - the first is the stadard mission that you must complete to progress through the career. Once you've completed a mission you get a random variant where the enemies are all randomly placed. Good for replayability on the missions you like.

am i the only one who found the analog sticks a bit fiddly for this?

Nope, I do too, hence my shittiness at aiming. I'm getting better the more I play though, and there's a fair snap-to-aim that helps once you figure out it's limits.

I found them to be fine. I'm sure I'll improve after more use though.

I'm surprised at how quickly I feel accustomed to the sticks. They allow for much finer grained control than they look.

Wasn't too blown away by I tbh. This will sound daft but it just felt like another portable shooter- see ds, 3ds,psp and iPhone. I was hoping for a full fledged console shooter but on a portable. Hard to describe, especially as I'm typing on my phone, but basically I expected something more.

I played this for a few hours again last night, 5*ing already complete missions and doing the daily (which you only get one attempt at,though can restart as many times as you choose while in the mission).

It's easily the best portable shooter I've played to date as it's not just "another portable shooter" and it's not a console port. They've thought about the social aspect of the Vita and the the way/ammount of time people will play; everything is bitesize of varying degrees. It's just excellent.

    ^^^^

The best compliment i could give Unit 13 is that it reminds me of a high score based version of GRAW 2 (which happens to be one of my favourite games.

Controls felt alot tighter once i knocked the sensitivity down a tad as well.

Going to get uncharted finished and trade it for this on the 9th i think.

Just finished the first mission and its definetely not just another shooter. I was expecting Socom in Vita but was surprised to find its more of a stealth shooter that requires strategy. Almost like a cross between Socom and Rainbiw Six Vegas. Credit gies to Zipper, they could have just shoved TDM in there and made a lazy port of Socom. Definite day one purchase.

Can you do co-op with someone on your friends list online, or is it ad-hoc only?
