Ok, cool. I think I'll get Anniversary then. I have change in my PSN wallet thanks to MGS being such a good price. -

Registered 9 years agoFinally got cracking on P3P this morning. Hmm, bit of a slow starter. Doesn't really have the feel of an RPG, although the almost graphic adventure-like presentation probably doesn't help. -

Legend has some terribly low res textures. It's certainly playable; I played it on the PSP start to finish. But if given the choice you should really play it on the PS3. It's a good game, with lots of charm.
Are the Tomb Raider games any good on PSP?PSN: DonOsito

Looks pretty good and certainly moves at a fair lick! £7 thou, hmmmm.
I'd also recommend Colin McRae 2005. Needed some rally action, and doesn't look too bad for such an old game. Bit light on physics, but it's got pretty much everything you'd want. Like Group B, 4min stages.......
*cough*Dirt 3 shite*cough*
Brings back memories of CM2004 days on the PS2.

Registered 2 years agoI'm not sure if I'm just imagining things but I swear Persona 2 looks nicer on the Vita screen. Brighter, maybe?
The game did try to freak me out when I went to load my save and it told me that there was an error and I needed to reinsert the UMD but it seemed to load up fine despite that. Phew!PSN ID: finn1

Could be the colour space option - if it's off, it'll use the superior contrast ratio of the OLED display, instead of trying to emulate the PSP display (which looks rather dull in comparison).

Registered 2 years agoAh, thanks. It's weird: didn't notice any real difference with the other PSP games I've played on it. Maybe I tapped it while doing something else.PSN ID: finn1

Registered 10 years agoWhile we are on the subject of differences, can anyone confirm that PSP games run smoother on the Vita or is it a basic emulator with just the better screen taken advantage of? -

Registered 9 years agoWipeout Pure seems to run a little smoother than it ever did on the PSP, but that could be because (I'm guessing) the Vita runs all PSP games in 333mhz mode by default. Not noticed better performance on any other games, and the loading times certainly haven't been improved.
Another thing, the OLED screen makes PSP games look rather dull and smudgy, unfortunately. Just did a side by side comparison with P3P on my PSP Go, and the game looks much more vibrant on the latter. Could be because of the upscaling, or could just be because the OLED screen is warmer, and so whites aren't as white. Having a very exciting Friday night, as you can probably tell.

At the moment I have P3P, Mutant Blobs, Motorstorm, EG, Super Stardust, Ninja Gaiden, and a few other PSP games to play/finish. Not too bad I guess, but I'll probably be adding Blazblue to that list later on..gif)
Edit: I do wish the Vita had PSP Go's save state functionality though, especially for games like P3P where you don't get the opportunity to save that often.

See, this is why I'm avoiding getting sucked into any PSP sales. I've already got Mutant Blobs to play, plus Everybody's Golf and the Wipeout HD Fury DLC once I've finished the MGS collection. And that assumes I don't go back to Gravity Rush for a few more trophies.

On the PSP side I've got Dissidia from the last time it was on sale, not to mention Valkyrie Profile Lenneth on UMD.
Finally if Sony ever get PSOne games running on the Vita, I've got FFVII and IX to play too... -

Registered 10 years agoDamn this sale, I've ended up buying PoP:Rival Swords (port of Two Thrones), P3P and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite.
PoP looks awful, but I've always wanted to finish it after half starting on GC/Ps2 and after a while you just get drawn in to the wonderful platforming. Got P3P on 'the hype' and EGs rave review, and I figured all those japanese Monster Hunter players must see something in it right? -
