    I'm sure you know this, but just to be on the safe side, HD/Fury isn't standalone but DLC for the main game.

    But if you've enjoyed WipEout 2048 - the HD Fury DLC is phenomenal!

    I actually thought it was a standalone game.
    /Blush
    Thanks though. Bad luck as I don't have 2048.

    Oops, I did say Thursday, didn't I? :p

    Anyway, it's no surprise to see that this week's big title is Sound Shapes. You've probably all completed it already but if you haven't checked it out yet, I suggest you do so - now. It's a musical platform game where the coins you collect make up the background music in the game with community levels available as well.

    Probably the surprise of the week is Alundra finally coming to PS1 classics. The original game is supposedly much better than the sequel so do give it a shot if JRPG's are your thing. There are also a couple of new minis and a new Katamari DLC pack (free as usual).

    Finally, check out the latest items going on sale, which includes a raft of Non-FF Square-Enix related discounts (i.e. Tomb Raider, Gex etc). There are also some discounts on Vita games but they'll only last until err tomorrow so be quick!

    Oh, and if someone can verify Urban Chaos is on sale at the stated price and the expiry date, please confirm. Thanks :)

    Next Week
    Haven't got a clue. This time zone business has screwed up my memory...

    I'm assuming the best way to currently purchase these PSOne offers is via Media Go? Fancy Fear Effect/FE2.

    @Rens11 - I've never played it but it's considered to be something of a classic in the Zelda style.
  • Deleted user 21 August 2012 12:20:47
    I'd be afraid to buy via Media GO, what if those won't work on Vita.
    Alundra is stupidly hard in later stages, I hear there are some annoying puzzles too.

    Not that I've seen. But they confirmed FF7, MGS and Resi 2 at least. I'm sure they've mentioned others too.

    Late again but you probably won't mind as there's barely anything to talk about. Urban Chaos is the only new game out this week but it's in the Summer sale for one week so don't miss out if you want it. There's also a new PSP theme if you like paying for them.

    The final week of the Summer sale is decent though. A lot of JRPG goodies to sink your teeth into, including Persona 3 Portable and Trails in the Sky. A few minis also on sale to give you more incentive to spend your hard-earned cash.

    Next Week
    No idea (but I'm back so updates should be at the normal time next week - unless the coming typhoon changes course again and heads for us)...

    Actually, scratch that. Vita firmware 1.80 is next week right? Which means... PS1 compatibility?

    22nd August 2012

    ****SALES****

    PSP
    Expires 5th September 2012:
    Breath of Fire 3 (7.99 -> 3.99)
    Fate/Extra (23.99 -> 13.99)
    International Athletics (5.99 -> 3.19)
    Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (23.99 -> 13.99)
    Persona 2: Innocent Sin (23.99 -> 13.99)
    Persona 3 Portable (23.99 -> 13.99)
    Spectral Souls: Resurrection of the Ethereal Empire (11.99 -> 7.29)
    Spectral vs Generation (6.49 -> 3.99)
    Spinout (5.49 -> 2.99)
    WWII: Battle over the Pacific (5.49 -> 3.19)

    Minis
    Expires 5th September 2012:
    Ace Armstrong/Stellar Attack Bundle (3.99 -> 1.74)
    Age of Hammer Wars (3.49 -> 1.99)
    Card Shark (1.74 -> 0.99)
    Fighting Fantasy: Talisman and Warlock pack (4.99 -> 1.99)
    Kaleidoscope (3.99 -> 3.49)
    Left to Die in Zombhai (2.49 -> 1.74)

    ****PS1 games****
    Urban Chaos - 3.99 (2.99 until 29th August 2012)

    ****PSP Themes****
    Killzone 3 Static Theme by Kristian Hammerstad - 0.79

    So, um, yes. PS Vita firmware 1.80 finally came out this week and over 100 PS1 titles (their estimate, not mine) will be available to grab on the store!

    If you're screaming for new content, I can't help though. It seems pushing 100+ PS1 titles to the Vita store is just too much for PSN Vita to handle. There's absolutely nothing new online - though ironically, Bishi Bashi Special is on the store front. Hmm...

    Next Week
    Pinball fans get Zen Pinball. Pink hair lovers will also enjoy next week's update. The wait is almost over...

    29th August 2012

    Vita gets PS1 compatibility - but nothing else...
