From what I can gather there is quite a bit missing from the Vita version of Rayman Legends. Suggestions are that it will be patched in later for free. This is probably why it is a little smaller.

Rayman Origins is only 927 MB, so I can't see a Legends patch being too big.

Given the patch contains all the Origins levels it will probably be about 900MB... ;)

Nice freebie I suppose but I can't say I'm that keen on playing Origin levels again even as an added extra.

Eh? The patch will only contain the 28 missing invasion mode levels, not the whole of Origins.

Edit: It says so here: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-09-03-rayman-legends-owners-discover-vita-version-is-missing-28-levels

Does anyone know how big Vagrant Story is? In desperate need of a bigger memory card but until I can afford one I need to keep swapping games around!

The game does have levels from 5 worlds of Origins but they are totally updated with the new UbiArt engine. They are also not part of the main story, they are in their own painting which you win levels to by playing a scratchcard. If you want the platinum you'd have to play through them again but otherwise they are optional.

Very impressed with Rayman, Killzone and TWD so far.

Yes, looks like I missed another game from last week. The hugely acclaimed Rayman Legends suddenly appeared last week and can be had for 29.99. If you're looking for something a bit cheaper, there's Aabs Animals, a err pet simulation game. Apparently some of the proceeds will go to Animal Rescue.

Sparkle is the next game out this week, which is a Zuma lookalike. I don't know much about it but there is a trial if you're interested. This week's second big hitter is KickBeat, formerly a Vita exclusive but since moved to PS3/Vita. The game gives you music and gets you to beat enemies to the beat of the music. You can even import your own tracks. Again, a trial is available.

Finally, there's the surprising addition of Metal Gear Solid: Special Missions (oddly not Vita compatible). The game features 300 training missions in the style of Metal Gear Solid. Loved the demo at the time. There's also a special bundle of Metal Gear Solid and the Special Missions games - even more oddly, only available on the web Store or PS3.

Don't forget that the Big in Japan sale ends next week so make sure you grab everything before time runs out!

    Next Week
    ...and now I'm stuck.

    11th September 2013

    ****Full Vita Games****
    Rayman Legends - 29.99
    Aabs Animals - 3.99
    Sparkle - 3.99
    KickBeat - 7.29

    ****Vita Trials and Demos****
    Sparkle (T)
    KickBeat (T)

    ****PS1 games****
Metal Gear Solid Special Missions - 6.49
Metal Gear Solid Bundle (MGS and MGS: SR) - 12.99

Thanks for the reminder! I've managed to do that with the last few sales, somehow. :)

Hope we still get Lone Survivor in the next month or so (think it was suggested that it would be September, wasn't it?).

Even at 12, I'm tempted by GTA VCS for PSP. Any good or has it suffered with age?

I've not played it myself but it's often on sale, so might be worth waiting.

Really enjoying Rayman. Love the set up, there's always so many options for what to do at any one time.

I'm considering picking up Ys 7 for the sale price (despite having way too many games to play already!) is it worth it? Since the new Ys comes out next month shall I just wait?

@aros I didn't get on with Ys7 but some hold it in quite high regard. Not as highly as Oath of Felghana though.
  • Deleted user 12 September 2013 11:46:51
I've abandoned Ys7 but only because stupidly selecting hard difficulty at the start.
Or was it normal? Can't remember now, but certainly it was not "easy". Some bosses were really bloody difficult and the game required excellent reflexes. Not a bad game, mind, but I personally don't enjoy JRPGs the way I used to.

How do you buy from the Japanese store?

To access the Japanese Vita PS store you need to set up a Japanese account, then you need to swap to another memory card to sign in to your Japanese account.

There are a few sites that list the complete instructions-I don't want to accidentally miss out a step by saying from memory!

October's PS+ month is brilliant. Four games I have wanted to varying degrees. Really pleased as I have had most recent Vita games so two full games I don't have is excellent.

    Vita
    Street Fighter x Tekken
    Touch My Katamari

    PS3
    Far Cry 3
    Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams
    Dragon's Dogma

Also good for me but I prefer the ones on offer this month.

Already played FC3, which is awesome, and have generally lost interest with Street Fighter and Katamari. (Will still 'buy' them of course).

Looking forward to Dragon's Dogma though. I assume it is the full extended game and not just the add on?

    @PazJohnMitch

PS blog has confirmed that it is both Dragon's Dogma (original game) and the Dark Arisen expansion.

Ah well, first month where I've had both the games so no great loss.

@PazJohnMitch Dark Arisen has never been just an add-on. It was a re-release of the full game with some extra content.

Superb, Street Fighter and Katamari were 2 games I was planning on buying for the Vita.

I thought one of their promises was that they wouldn't put stuff in the IGC that had recently been on sale? I'd try contacting them and asking if they could switch your paid-for purchase to UMvC3.

That's pretty lucky! There will always be months where you have both but I'm just happy you all got to play stuff like NLKS because it deserved more players. How would you rate the two games?

Fighting games and 3D platformers. Genres that are not for me I've decided. SRPGs/RPGs however are handheld heaven.

Anyway, santashi will be pleased to know that I played some more Shinobido 2 t'other night and I quite like it!
