A quiet day on the store this week but there is one game out this week with Nun Attack finally released on the store. It's cheap and looks nice. Whether it plays nice is not for me to decide though.

After that, all there is left are some new tables for Pinball Arcade. If you're on Playstation Plus, you can grab Sine Mora for free and there are some deals for some of the GTA PSP games if that's your speciality.

    Do be prepared though...

    Next Week
High speed arcade shooting, warping action is just 7 days away - Velocity Ultra is approaching. Fast.

    8th May 2013

    ****Full Vita Games****
    Nun Attack - 1.99

****Vita DLC, Game Packs and Online/Network Passes****
Pinball Arcade Add-on Pack 12: Cactus Canyon and Central Park - 3.99
Pinball Arcade Add-on Pack 12: Cactus Canyon Pro Table Pack with Central Park - 6.49
Pinball Arcade Add-on Pack 12: Cactus Canyon Table Pack Upgrade - 3.19

Velocity Ultra should be amazing. Only got about 5 games to play before I get to it though.

Can we have a summer drought yet?

Pinball Arcade tables much better this week, both run very well, and Cactus Canyon is brilliant fun (however the table art does look like it's smeared in Vaseline relative to the other versions...)

Picked up the two Stories games. It's worth noting there is no control option that maps camera to anything that can be set as the second stick in VCS at least.

I also bought Nun Attack but have not tried it yet

I guess any month is a tough month to decide not to buy any games but I'm struggling :-(

I bought Frogger for Home arcade. Worth 80p.

    Just about.

I'm thinking in honour of GTA V, I will take full advantage of the GTA sale and play GTA games, and only GTA games* until the release of GTA V.

I reckon I could get through one PSP, one PS2 and one of the GTA IV DLCs.

    *Besides The Last of Us.

Coconut Dodge Revitalised coming to the Vita on 5th June.

Essentially a HD remake of the PS Mini - with trophies and the usual bells and whistles...

It's from the game peeps who made Velocity Ultra, so it could be good but asI never played the original I don't know whether this is particularly noteworthy...

    Edit: Confirmed at 1.99

It's not. I think I got it free with PS+ played it once and never returned. It's not borken bad but it's not great either.

You cannot stop me with paramecium alone!

I'll probably pick that up for 1.99 - Can't argue with that price. Especially as we get Velocity Ultra HD for free, I'm happy to support the studio.

Velocity Ultra should be out tomorrow, but is it actually free for previous owners? I don't think I've read something like that; not that I mind paying for that again...

    @JonFE - it's free on PS+ for a month from tomorrow.

@el_pollo_diablo Very poor that it has no scaling options though. Playing on a tiny sliver in the middle of the screen is shite. Especially considering the lovely widescreen splash screen when it boots up.

    FCUTA!

    @Flying_Pig

Thanks for that reply; it clears up my confusion. I probably should get PS+...

@jonsaan I totally agree. I just love this game. Its a weakness. If it was any other game I'd be pretty unimpressed, but I have a soft spot for frogger that even a lazy port like this cant squish.

Right, if you're a PS+ member reading this and you haven't grabbed Velocity Ultra yet, go here and grab it now and get the download started on the Vita. There's a trial as well so you have no excuses. Once it's downloading, it'll be finished by the time you finish reading :).

For those who don't know, Velocity was FuturLab's breakthrough hit on Playstation minis and garnered huge review scores from sites that would have otherwise snubbed the minis scene. This remastered version of the game is a simple vertical shooter with the ability to teleport around the level in order to rescue survivors and blow stuff up. It's good fun and has a platinum trophy for the hoarders.

Right, now for the rest of the update. Jacob Jones and the Big Foot Mystery Episode 1 of 5 is out today and is a very cheap and cute puzzle game akin to the Professor Layton series. There's also a Star Wars Pinball game which is basically some free trials for the actual tables (I think).

There's a demo for surprise release, Farming Simulator so you can experience the hardship yourself. The first purchasable pack for Star Wars Pinball is also out today, along with the (final?) DLC packs for Sound Shapes.

Right, Velocity must have finished downloading by now, right? Good! Enjoy and feel free to thank/curse me later!

    Next Week
    No idea...

Bought the Jacob Jones game - couldn't resist at that price. Only played for about an hour, but liking it so far. Puzzles are pretty easy, but there's no exploration (yet).

    Quite like it though :)

I'm tempted by it. At that price it's not too much of a gamble to take a chance on it. I've read that despite the kid-friendly presentation, the puzzles get quite fiendish as the game progresses.

Presentationally, it's similar to Costume Quest (in a good way), but gameplay is closer to Prof Layton. Definitely worth a go for £1.59.

I've always wanted to play Prof Layton but the opportunity has never arisen, which makes me all the more curious to try this. Think I'll give it a go to scratch my puzzle itch.

Still haven't picked up Machinarium though. Presumably the Vita version of that is good?

I was a bit disappointed by Machinarium.

It's just another take on Escape Plan.

Not that i've actually seen that much of it, because i'm dumb.

Having not played Escape Plan, it sounds more like Escape Plan would be a take on Machinarium.

There's an Escape Plan demo on the store.

I'm enjoying Jacob Jones after playing the first hour last night - the art style is brilliant (if you like things like that) - they've nailed the vinyl toy look, with the people even having 'join lines' running down their mid point. Definitely worth 1.59

Noooo - Escape Plan and Machinarium are 2 completely different games. The latter is an old-skool Point 'n' Clicker, and an excellent one to boot. Escape Plan is an average puzzle/platformer.
