    Game Info
A stealth action game where you play as a ninja out for revenge against the people who betrayed him. Gameplay is mission-based and involves tasks such as protection, assassination, kidnapping and stealing. Touch screen controls are used for some aspects.

You can also throw people you're protecting down stairs and set traps of deadly sushi.

I wasn't entirely sure that I wouldn't just be having a conversation with myself in this thread, so I'm grateful for any company. ;)

I'm really looking forward to it, personally. :p The AI's supposed to be a bit rubbish in earlier missions, though.

    /PS2 & PSP Shinobido veteran

AI will be flakey as hell throughout, but it adds to the unpredictability. Kinda like early Hitman/Tenchu. God, if only it included the mission editor, with sharing.

And as for the sublime 'twists' of the previous games, I hope they'll top:

    -steampunk 'tank' samurai
    -'boss' cat
    -life as Yogi

    Batshit mental.

Videos of this at least make it look like a real game, unlike the dodgy (even by this series standards) PSP version. I might be interested, but not at launch.

Zen has a very angry voice.

Edit: Ignore me! Really enjoying it so far.

Glad to see that killing an angry man-eating bear is about as tough as it would be in real life. If I don't get a stealth kill, I'm dead. :p

The controls for the game really do feel much more natural the more you play it, which I wasn't sure would be the case at first. I feel like a nimble ninja now, happily playing the lords off against each other while drastically thinning out the tubby merchant population. I do hope some of the more intriguing '?' missions lead to something.

Anyone else actually playing this game? ;)

I'm tempted. Is it the same as Tenchu?

No idea, sorry! Mission based gameplay where you're busy assassinating, stealing, protecting, etc. while balancing three different groups against each other. If that sounds similar to Tenchu then yes. :)

Also, just unlocked another (prettier!) character. Yay!

Mission based like GTA or mission based like hitman? i.e. world map or mini-mission maps?

Fancy picking it up when it's cheap if its the former.

Mini mission maps. There are usually about 8 or so missions to pick from at a time and there are relatively few obligatory (story) missions that crop up from time to time compared to the optional ones. Still say it's worth it though. I've pretty much not played anything else since I got it. ;)

Demo feels quite slick, and killing people "properly" is totally satisfying. Wouldn't take much of a price cut to interest me.

I've got 2 of the endings and 1 of the post credits endings now. Really enjoyed it. Have to say, hardest mission of all was when this person said 'please kill a bear for me'. I did so and discovered I'd killed one of 12 in the mission... and on the forest map too! Any other map would have been fine! Ah well, I did manage it. :)

Can't believe nobody else on here owns it.

Too pricey for what it is. Also a fallback after Unit 13 and the post-launch lull.

Everyone's different. Personally I think it's worth the 25. Shinobido was the game I wanted the most, the first game I got and the game I've played the most. I've found it very hard to put down. :)

Maybe on one of the Game demo machines? Definitely not on the EU PSN.

Bah. Too much hassle to switch accounts for one demo. I'll wait until the price drops.

Hey santashi, did you get vouchers for 8 off RR and Katamari in the box with this game? Do you/anyone know if that is in all copies?

8 off vouchers seem to be a Namco Bandai thing entirely, with 8 off Ridge Racer included in Katamari. Don't know what's in Ridge, but if anyone has one for Shinobido.......

    ....just sayin' .

@ilmaestro Yep, I did. I'm pretty sure that the vouchers are in all copies of the game.

@oldschoolsoviet I really don't think that there is one for Shinobido, just for RR and Katamari as their cheaper Vita releases. Besides, even with 8 off it would still be more expensive than a retail version and you already thought that was too pricey. ;)

Yeah, with the money being off the download version it would only make sense to buy Shinobido, not the other way around. Cheers though, I'm still not convinced I want Ridge or Katamari that much, but it does make buying this now a little more tempting.

Oh well, had some stuff to trade in so exchanged it for PSN credit vouchers - ordered this from Zavvi and will use the PSN credit to pick up discounted Katamari and Ridge.
