    Would it be simple to say if I loved the first one on the PSP then I'll love this one?

    Yeah, can't really go wrong with it. It's not the sort of title where the dev can massively change the basic gameplay.

    Anyone managed to complete Voyage mode btw? I manage to get to (I think) the tenth song then the drop speed suddenly massively increases and I get creamed.

    Off the top of my head, not sure. I know I keep forgetting to activate my avatar ability when I'm in a pinch.

    I've maxed my XP now and unlocked all the avatars. Still got loads of skins that are locked though.

    I played Voyage for nearly two hours last night and didn't reach the end! The speed seems to just shoot up for some songs before slowing down again for the next one, Disco Infiltrator is the first fast one.

    BAAANG!!!!! EXPLOTION!!!!!

    does the drop speed stay the same then? I find sometimes it increases but it doesn't it seems to stutter? If that makes any sense!?

    Like this game but can't help feeling it should be a 10 download rather than a 30 purchase.

    It really isn't a whole lot different at all to the PSP original however many years ago, which was brilliant, but I've played it before. A LOT.

    Caved in and picked up a Vita yesterday and I am totally hooked on this game (never played the original). I just love the way that the music and visuals are part of the experience. I swear they've found an algorithm to fire seratonin out of the Vita's screen and through my eyes directly into my brain. ^_^

    Had almost a 40min game last night with 233k scored. I think "wow great" then find out a minute later when it updates the leader boards a friend has 400k :(

    I really like this game but I'm rubbish at it. :(

    I'm getting better but the change of skins can confuse me sometimes leading me to mess the entire game up. Presentation is simple but effective and the musical score is superb, opening up with Deep Dish's The Future of the Future (which to be honest, I don't think I could ever get tired of listening to).

    Is it me though is there a lack of modes? The Master mode is way too difficult for me and the Timed ones (up to 60 seconds) seem a bit pointless... unless I'm missing something? I was hoping for Challenges, Survival or Time Attacks, anything along those lines. I only paid a tenner for the game, thanks to ShopTo's discount from my PSV order, so it's not a game killer or anything; I'm just surprised there isn't more content. I seem to remember the 360 version had lots of different modes. :confused:

    On reflection, I wish I'd bought this digitally as it's a game, like Super Stardust Delta and Motorstorm RC, that is handy to have available at all times without the (minor) hassle of having to fiddle around with swapping game cards. Only the PS Store price makes me glad I didn't though...

    Been blitzing the game over the past few days and finally unlocked Master 5. Also contributed to the World Block last night (erased about 2600 squares) and my level rocketed from 32 to 50! Nice.

    I lost my original progress due to downloading the demo which then caused the game card to freeze upon insertion until I did a database rebuild.

    Anyway, I managed to score 76,000 on this sublime game last night after two hours of playing it (it sure didn't seem like that long though!). I was quite chuffed but disheartened that all the effort wasn't rewarded with at least one Trophy. Well, I played Lumines ES at lunch time and was awarded THREE Trophies before I even started playing the Voyage mode! One of them was for playing the game twice in 24 hours and one was for scoring more than 50,000 points (why didn't I get that last night?). Nice. :)

    Love this game. Everytime I play I get a bit further and the music is just wonderful (I play it with the earphones). I still get caught out when the blocks change (I find some of them harder to see than others) but I definitely feel like I'm getting better.

    I'm also going to transfer my two Deep Dish albums across to my PSV as I've forgotten how good their stuff is. :)

    Finally got that damn 30 squares in 30s trophy. >_<

    REALLY irritating that when you get close but fail, have to exit to the menu and then reload the stage because there's no retry option (unless the blocks reach the ceiling).

    Tip: The sometimes shitty load-to-menu times can be annoying but can be mitigated if you switch on flight mode as it seems to be down to the game trying to connect online. If there's only one World Block per day and it's erased at 4am, why does the game need to check online to confirm this EVERY time you access the main menu?

    Bloody hell. I just shot up from level 18 to level 32 for contributing to the world block the other day.

    @jonsaan

    I could be wrong but I think this is how things work. Each day progress gets reset at 12 midnight GMT (I think) and goes on until all squares are erased which seems to happen around 4am. Play the game just after midnight to be sure you contribute. When a game is over and it returns to the menu, it connects and registers any squares you've erased. Then later on once all squares are erased, choose World Block from the menu and you can see your contribution for that day and you'll be rewarded with your bonus XP.

    If you play the game after the final square has been erased you won't make any contribution and will have to wait for the next day.

    Agreed. As good as it is, I'm not sure I would have got it were it not for the Amazon bundle deal.

    Anybody got any beginner tips for this? Or is it just a case of having to learn as you play? I'm pretty rubbish at it :( High score is around 23000 - which I'm guessing is shit.

    @heavy_salad

    Timing the drop of blocks so that they lock-down just after the timeline passes gives you the maximum amount of time to add another block or 2 to the group to increase its points value. Also understand that unlike other block-droppers some stages in Lumines require different strategies than others. I had difficulty on the Automatons stage at first because my brain's hard-wired for Tetris and I was trying to play as fast as possible. On that stage the timeline is quite slow moving and when blocks are cleared it takes a bit of time for those above them to drop. This means that if you go full speed, all you end up doing is filling up the play field giving yourself nowhere to go. Playing smarter not harder is the key. Now I see it as a great stage for building up big combos because I have slightly more time to pick out a more effective placement for each block rather than process as many blocks as I can.

    When you start, the first couple of blocks can sometimes be manipulated so that you get a single colour clear or complete stage clear for a nice points bonus. You may need to stall on dropping following blocks so that this occurs however. Again it's a case of playing at full speed working against you.

    Thank you. Think it's the sort of game you have to just play and pick up tthings that work best as you go!

    I went into the World Block thing and levelled up to 50 from 32. Is that the maximum level or something as I'm no longer seeing that XP bar any more after each game?

    My max score is still only 92,000 points as I always mess things up on the white/pink Disco Inferno level. :(
