Registered 7 years agoBecame a dad for the second time last week, you forget how you survive on such little sleep. Nothing can eat the feeling of being handed your new born child.
It seems funny that we found out we were expecting the day this thread was created, amazing how fast time flies.PSN: Adwab2

Registered 4 years agoCongratulations Kangoo. Hope it's easier second time around for you.
I potty trained our youngest last week. So apart from nights that's no more nappies now. Been changing nappies since March 2007 and I'm now done. No more. Nada. Zip.

@Maturin
If this one ia half as good as my eldest, I will be ecstatic. She has always been the easiest child to raise, even if she does think my PS3 can only be used for 101 Dalmations now.
@bobmar360
I alreasdy have my rldest kissing the Liverpool badge and cheering when we score, much to my Tottenham supporting in laws disgust.

Was as easy as a birth can be, waters broke at 7, arrived at hospital at 8, baby delivered ar 9.24. Hope yours goes well.PSN: Adwab2

Cheers buddy, I've printed this timetable and handed it to the wife. Also told her that this way she'll be able to be back at work for 10:30.

Registered 11 years agoTo all those soon-to-be dads, it is fantastic (my boy is turning two this month), but there's one thing I wish someone had told be before we had ours: The first two to three months can be really depressing for a lot of couples. It's hard to bond with the actual baby (and not just to the idea of a baby) during those early months, and often babies have a rough time of it early on. Some with sleeping, mine with painful gas, others with something else. In any case, if you find yourself feeling this way, it is my experience that it will get 1000% better in a short while, and you just need to push through the hard part... -

Completely agree with this, I had/have some dark times and moments of utter despair... it gets better and it is worth it.

Registered 4 years agoVery true. One thing that makes it very hard is how one sided the relationship is.. a small baby just wants milk, nappy changes, sleep and warmth. Cuddles are often not something that interests them at all. You get more love from a tamogotchi.
And though that time is measured in weeks, it can seem forever. And it can feel a very dark time. Especially if you are doing it alone, as I did first time around.
Thank goodness it gets magical.

Registered 7 years agoMy little boy is five months old today. Wow. It's been the best thing to ever happen to me. He's the cutest little bundle I could ever imagine. The last five months feels like 2 years but it's not too busy, not too exhausting.
Good luck elstoof.bf3: sergeant_shaftoe

Registered 11 years ago15 weeks into Ms. Khanivor's pregnancy. This will be my first, her second. Her gorl is ten now, which means she will be the main nappy changer. About time she had some chores

One thing I will say to all new dads is please make sure you give the mother of your child the option to shower every day. It's a small thing that makes all the difference (psychologically as well as hygienically) and is easily overlooked.
In a unrelated note, my 12wk old baby just threw up in my mouth. As it was breastmilk, it felt like a strange variant on two girls one cup. That'll teach me to let her plank after a big feed.
