@rodbull - I got a reply from SEGA, surprisingly within a few hours of requesting a ticket:

Thank you for contacting SEGA Europe.

Please try to activate the Code later this day as the official release date is today.

It seems like the initial Vita PSN release is the standard, not limited version. Is anyone able to confirm if that's definitely the case?

Yes, I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying it. I did have a preorder on Amazon but I'd rather have it digitally if possible, since it's a racing game.

Yes it much better having all your games on a memory card I myself have a 32 gb card so its better than changing games constantly but the pricing for digital is extreme I bought AC LIB on PSN 39.99 in store tesco 28.50 😠

Digital prices should be 19.99 tops

It's unfortunate, but understandable. You can't sell games to retailers then undercut them on your own e-store if you want them to keep selling your games for you. That's the unfortunate situation gamers are in at the moment and it'll stay the same until consoles go completely digital.

It's a constant source of frustration for me, and having been on both sides of the coin (platform holder, and now publisher) it's a situation I find myself trying to help educate people on a daily basis.

However, most people don't care on the reasoning, because as consumers they want the best deal, and I can't blame them.

I do my best to try and ensure our digital prices are as low as possible, but when the UK retail environment is all about discounting it's too hard, because EU retailers don't discount. Which is why you see stupidly high digital pricing. We have to keep retailers happy, and the majority of them (EU ones) maintain the SRP for a long time. We can't have differential pricing across EU and UK, so there is one price bracket, and it's UK consumers who are the most hurt in the process.

UK consumers are spoilt by the pricing war that the supermarkets started, and those same supermarkets are the ones who only stock the top ten, therefore creating the issue but also failing to help the situation by selling a broader range of titles.

If GAME and HMV ever die out, then we're truly fucked as supermarkets will never stock a large range of titles, fuck they won't even expand to a top twenty.

    /rant over

See also why you should never buy books, DVDs or... anything from a supermarket.

Just to clarify also on the Vita DLC code issue, we're looking into. Most likely the codes haven't been activated by our friends at Sony yet ;)

Interesting Mike, explains all the complaints on these boards about digital pricing when it's sometimes still cheaper then what I pay in the shops (In Switzerland).

    That's a pretty comprehensive explanation. :D

Personally I'd probably still go with the PSN version if I manage to find out anything about the bonus DLC.

Yeah, it's not a case of greedy publishers as some people would like to believe. Don't get me wrong we're in it to make money, but not to rip our fanbase off.

    Who's got the PS3 version?

I'd quite like to get some online matches going at some point, but think most people are on 360.

Played an hour and a bit tonight on the Wii U and although i'm quite liking it, I do have a few issues. Visually, it's a very cluttered game. The first track is ok as the track itself is bright, but some of the other courses look like a jumbled up mess. There's too much going on, I think.

Too few track layouts have their own characteristics, so it feels like, in many cases, that the paint job is the biggest difference between tracks. I suppose it's still early days though.

Finally, what does the all-star stat mean? And that all-star power-up is crazy. With some characters I couldn't even see what was going on in front of me and when it finished I almost always crashed lol.

    Wii U: Raiko87 (Dave)
    Xbox Live: Raiko87

You will get used to the 'clutter', no doubt. As for tracks, they all feel different for me. Not sure I ever felt otherwise.

@Raiko101 The all star stat governs how effective the all star pickup is, so how much faster you'll go with it basically.

I felt like I was suckered in by the EG hype when I played about 30 mins of it, but it really worms it's way into your skull, really enjoying it, a proper challenge on medium too!

Haven't really found a regular character to play as yet, maybe I need to unlock more...

It's a shame you can't quickly change characters between attempts at challenges though

Finished the last Grand Prix last night, and it seems weird how it contains what seem like 4 easy beginner tracks with barely any obstacles and little to no transformations.

All the eurogamers who actually play with each other on xbl rather than just post pseudointellectual pc handwringing bollocks on the forums, love the shit out of biggy.

I've just been playing the World Tour, done almost everything on Hard and loads on Expert.

A tip: Once you've unlocked her, Pudding (with handling and then later super balanced mod) is the one to use for the all the Ring Challenges.

I'm not joking, I'm having trouble deciding between this and Halo 4 for my GOTY.

This is such a great game, I'll be back on it soon.
