Just spent 38 minutes watching the Rocket Ranger walkthrough.

Next up is It Came From the Desert.

    Cinemaware was awesome.

As much as I sympathize. I think this is really a cry out for younger days when life was simple :D

Best is the liveCD, that effectively just turns your PC into an Amiga.

Totally. I was a teenager spending my evenings with mates trying to get through Zac Mckraken etc. Nothing compared to day.

But it's like they say. The golden age of comics wasn't the 60's. It was age 12.

man I loved the Amiga's I shared with my brother... we used to play this freight shipping simulator (I'm not joking here - http://www.portsofcall.de/) and we also cashed in both our birthday and Christmas presents to convince our parents to buy us Street Fighter 2

Accepted. But then I bought Cannon fodder and used to play everyone the music. That made me feel much better.

I loved my Atari ST, my first disc based computer. Sold it years ago.

My A500 is boxed in the garage :)

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

I can honestly say that I don't miss any of my old platforms. I can appreciate them, sure, but I've never been happier than I am now with my 360, PS3, high-end PC, Wii (not that it gets used much any more), iPhone and iPad.

Whether I have the time to devote enough attention to them any more is debatable of course.

Amiga? Great at the time, but I'm happy leaving my memories of that unsullied by the inevitably poor comparison it would result in if I tried it again today.

I'm still confused when I see "Aga" written down and wonder why the A1200 has just cropped up in a recipe book.

I've just got one and I'm looking at setting up an n64 and PS2 on some (very) old CRTs I was given when I emigrated, I also have an old Monitor in there so might well look at getting an Amiga..

I honestly wonder how much I will play them though, given that I dont really have time to play any of this gen.

I've turned off all the avatars and crap, so don't expect me to be impressed by yours.

I've always had an Amiga since the day I got my first one in '89 or '90. My current setup is an A1200 with 8gb or ram, 1260 Blizzard Accelerator card, a PCMCIA flashcard for easy transfer between PC and Amiga, and a few gig harddrive, enough to room just about every Amiga game ever made, using WHDload.

I also had a Towered up Amiga 1200 with a Mediator-PCI so I could use a Voodoo 3000 PCI graphics card and a PC monitor, a network card for internet and a soundcard. Although it was fun chatting with people via an Amiga on IRC years after Amigas became a thing of the past, I decided that it wasn't really practical for me, when I already had a PC. So I decided to go somewhat back to basic, and there's where I am now.

If I sometime in the future have a lot of extra space, time and money, I may try for a souped up Amiga again, for the fun of it. But as of now, I'm fine with keeping it simple. Also, emulation just isn't the same when it comes to the Amiga. I have no problem emulating everything else if it's accurate, just not the Amiga.
