It's been a very long time since a game gave me this much "missing time" syndrome. I got sucked into making a level on Saturday, looked up at the clock and it was 3 hours later. o_O

I tend to do a campaign level then make a level with the things I just unlocked so I really get to know what the bits and pieces do, so progress is slow but I already have quite a few levels up, gradually getting more complicated as time goes on.

Search for Beardybrave as a username and you should see them. Will give all of yours a crack later. =)

Anyone else discovered the Soundshapes website? Rather groovy way of finding, queuing, and commenting on levels.

Cheers BraveArse, I'll check it out, didn't know it existed. [Edit] Any chance I can get a link? I can't find the website.

@cjb - you are a very bad man. I spent ages trying to cross a room that I eventually realised had 'Wrong Way' written across it in huge letters. Then again, I laughed my ass off when 'oooh' came up, just as I was saying it myself. Genius!

Loving this. Will try and check out as many levels as I can from you guys as well as trying to produce a worthy one myself.

Had a fiddle with one by myiagros which was pretty neat!

    @neems here's the linky.

    http://www.soundshapesgame.com/en_GB/home/public.html

You need to sign in though. And if you're on a tablet or mobile device make sure you request the desktop site, it doesn't have a login on the mobile version.

edit: maybe leave it an hour out so. I've just tried to sign in and got errors. I get the impression they have way more users than they bargained for. =)

Finished the campaign mode this afternoon :)

That Beck Album was awesome. Huge genius!

Now on to Death mode :/

Beat School is great, although pretty tough for someone as tone deaf as me :)

    Death mode is evil though...

Death Mode seems so simple, yet some of the levels are bastard hard. Only have 2 left to finish, think the levels suit a handheld more than the main game in some ways as the levels are over in seconds.

@Murbal Thanks, it was just a quick mess about with the editor. I might try and make something a bit cleverer at somepoint.

This game seems to have the same issue as LBP with promoting user generated levels. Basically very few levels ever get played and most just sink without a trace, before get a chance.

After 4 days mine had been played 3 times, 2 of which were me recording a time.

It seems like the only way to get anyone to play your level is to promote it to your friends, or though external forums.

Most people will only ever play the stuff on the first couple of pages of the recommended stuff, most of which is replication of game themes rather than actual levels.

I'm not sure its worth spending much time making levels on, unless the discovery mechanism is better, unless you want to put time into "advertising", which I'm not sure I can be bothered to do.

Finished 2 Death Mode levels this morning, taking my total to 4.

I'm concerned that this game is bad for my health - so stressful - I swear I may end up snapping my Vita in two!!

@myiagros some of the promoted stuff and/or high profile levels are fairly naff too - focusing on the tune rather than a cleverly constructed challenge.

I guess it's important for us to self promote here. Perhaps we need to edit a post on the first page of the thread to list them or create a new thread for people to list their levels.

I'm very tempted to download this come pay day next week. If I don't mess about building levels myself is it still worth a purchase?

    @Flying_Pig

If you are doing them in order, you have some lovely ones coming up. Got the platinum last night, funnily the last level was probably the easiest, took about 3 goes. The ones before that however...

Part of the tutorial has you building a level ;-)

There's plenty of content in the community that should keep you going once you've exhausted the built in content but it certainly seems to be more about the sharing.

In agreement with all. Unless you publish the game during peak times, aka 12pm / 5pm then your levels won't get much play. It's a little sad that spending 20-40 minutes on a level and only getting 4-5 players... which im pretty sure are the EG'ers on here!

Seriously tho... if you haven't tried "Over Dee Gap?"

Then give it a shot! Just search for it or "cjb_bjc" my username.

Yes - I've just completed the first album. It was actually the second one (where you have to jump from floating island to floating island avoiding the pink 'sharks' which was the wost so far...

I can't actually remember what I called my level in the end, it was about 2am and I couldn't be bothered to think of a name for it.

I'll post it in the thread when I get home to find out.

I think it was Unwind or something similar. Played it earlier - those crossing missiles were nasty :)

Think I'm going to have to can my attempt at the Platinum Trophy. Some of those Death Mode are just too tough :(

Players this, finished the built in levels, didn't love it, was surprised.

The actual game is pretty dull and the music isn't brilliant and sounds more like it just happened when they built the levels. Good idea, boring execution. Will try some community levels and making my own to see if it changes my mind :-)

Really enjoyed the two long sessions I has playing this yesterday. Did some of the campaign, community levels and built my own. Still needs a bit of work but I'll link it in the other thread when ready.
