The no radar etc. Is a bit daunting at first. But it made the game infinitely more enjoyable IMO. The binoculars actually had a use and each section required a bit more forethought.

When I first played through, I didn't find any LIFE MED at all and I thought the only way to heal was to lay prone and keep topped up with food! It was actually a really tense playthrough because of that. Made me enjoy it that little bit more.

What is this LIFE MED you speak of?

I healed by eating snakes. Only realised very late on that you can catch them alive so they do not go rotten.

Just started MGS2. Finished tanker and onto big shell. First time I played it I barrelled through it like the hulk and scraped by. Taking my time now and trying to avoid as many as possible. Loads more fun! Can't really remember much of it but looking forward to see if I can follow the crazy plot.

We're celebrating 75 years of Batman - and here's my look back at Rocksteady's Arkham series.

All right The Mighty Rose has gotten the platinum on both these games on the vita and so if anyone has any questions then he (me!) would be happy to try and answer them.

I got the mgs3 platinum in less than 2 playthroughs on Hard although I could have gotten it in one had I not forgotten one Kerotan, one camo and one face camo in my first playthrough.

MG2 is a nightmare to get though as you have to play multiple times through the game in different modes, complete all VR missions (A lot of which consist of the same section over and over again) and all the Snake Tales etc.

In hindsight Tim Rose should probably have played through mgs2 in easy mode first instead of hard.

It won't be the first or last time you will be wrong about something though eh Rens? Don't give up though son.

You need to work on your spelling and manners it would seem. You know there has been a Mighty Rose scholarship set up for people like you yes?

Call me we can do lunch and get something set up bro.

I'm visiting this discussion a little late but there seems to be many posters on here that didn't play MGS 2 and 3 first time round. How come?

I've played the HDC collection on PS3 when it first came out and trophy collecting on MGS2 on Vita. Can't wait but yet to play MGS3 on the handheld, nearly finished getting the Platinum for MGS2, just got to do the VR missions...

As much as I love MGS, I'm struggling to get into Peace Walker.

Having completed MGS2, I'm currently enjoying MGS3 (just killed The Pain).

The trophies in both games are pretty painful and unimaginative - I'll be happy with the ~50% mark on each.

Just finished 2 (enjoyed it more this time, story is unsatisfying though). Started 3. Sublime!

    Ended :)

Didn't tranq him for the camo, but found it a bizarre, slow and calm 'boss' fight. Amazing.

Exactly unlike any boss fight i've fought before and in a good way. Thoroughly enjoyable

It's also a fight technically you don't have to have if you know the 2 ways of avoiding it.

Just a tip if you do end up going for the camo off him at some point, it's a little bit different than the other bosses in that you've got to hold him up and make him drop it instead of depleting his stamina bar.

OK here it is the second way of avoiding the boss fight On the PS2 version if you saved the game during the boss fight and left it long enough, say over a week he would die of old age. If you didn't leave it long enough then you would die the moment you loaded the game up. Haven't actually tried it on the HD version yet but it should still be there.

Apologies for the boring question but does anyone know the file size for MGS 3 to download?

Lol. I'm sure it's been mentioned but not sure if this thread or Vita thread.

I'm in the states at the moment and thinking of picking this up. I initially wanted Gravity Rush but was told that all the dlc would be locked to the US so that's out the window now. Is MGS a good alternative? How does it look on the Vita? Are there any dlc problems that I might encounter?

What should be played first, 2 or 3? I ask because 3 is set in 1964 and 2 is set between 2007-2009 and when loaded on the Vita, 3 is given as the first choice before 2

Start with 2. The gameplay evolves between 2 and 3 so MGS2 would be the better starting point. Storyline wise, 3 stands on its own pretty well but plot strands from 2 are continued (or started as it were).

Can the difficulty setting be changed in-game? I have it set to hard but can't find an option to alter it.

Looks like I have to completely delete/uninstall the game from the Vita in order to change the difficulty setting. The trophies I've earned will be fine though wont they?
