    Not exactly "todays" gaming, it's about a decade old.
    Should have made myself more clear (It was 2-3AM [I think] when I posted-I live in BC, Canada), my small hate on todays releases of gaming, a bunch of games released these days (Ones I get anyway) don't come with booklets and if they do then they're paper thin, is that asking for to much? A nice instruction booklet that I can refer to quickly if I forget something.

    After staring hard at the controls in the in-card instruction booklet for awhile I know the controls, now I just have to get use to them.

    Quite deadly cigarettes Snake smokes, I just thought it would be a animation when I took them out, but they're very killer and can kill him within seconds :p

    Strangely MSG on Vita is one of the few games I've brought recently that did come with a decent instruction booklet.

    Really enjoying MGS3 at the moment.

    I had played MGS2 before but thought it was merely ok. Only played the beginning of the other 2.

    So.... are these gonna unlock PS3 and Vita versions when you buy them on PSN?

    And if not, why not? Seems ridiculous when you've got the saves transfarring (cringe) and everything.

    Started playing mgs2 yesterday morning and have put in about 12 hours of play time, looked at the trophy list earlier has anyone managed to complete the game without getting an alert?

    I had forgotten how much I loved the MSG games and after I finish 2 & 3 I may rent 4 to play again

    I'm a bit dissapointed with the tranferring of trophies from Vita to PS3. That it's done on game saves not PSN account. I only managed to tranfer half my trophies. MS RC did it very well

    @Zackv4861 Which trophies didn't transfer? If it's the VR mission data, they're on a separate save.

    So got this for holidays and very confused by the start of mgs 2. What's the extra new game choice all about tank, plant, tanker - plant or something? Can someone explain?

    I've been just doing vr missions in the mean time which have been fun but keen to crack on and don't want to screw myself somehow by picking the wrong option ;)

    Looks like amazing value for under 25 nicker. Well impressed.

    as i siad im not 100% but i think thats right

    @Gregolution

    I'm not the most capable one to answer this, since I've only played the HD version of MGS2 and not the original PS2 one (so I don't really know how it was handled in the original version), but I think that, since you play the first mission with Snake and the rest with Raiden, you can either start to play both parts (the tanker incident and the plant one two years later) or just the second one.

    Play the tanker, then the plant for the full MGS2 story and experience

    Is there any point to buying this if you've already played and finished 2 and PW? I've never played MGS3 but I could get it for PS2 if wanted to.

    Also was Peace Walker done by someone else?
    Cos there is quite a bit of anti-american sentiment in this game I've seen in any of the other MGS games. Bits of info on what the US did in WW2 to Japan but nothing about what Japan was doing at the same time.

    The US is mentioned because they were meddling in central and south america at that time. You don't like it being brought up that's up to you but you can't ignore what the CIA was up to back then.

    It's not really that which bugs me, more the stuff Kaz talks about WW2 concerning USA and Japan.
    I'm not sure if I'm remembering correctly since I haven't played it for awhile, but he sort of makes out that Japan as some sort of blameless victim of America in WW2.

    There's 2 sides to every story and never forget history is written by the winners but that also means it's not necessarily true.

    Just because you don't agree with what is said doesn't make it any less valid.

    Probably because Kaz is half Japanese and was born and raised there. Of course he's going to have Japanese sympathies growing up in the immediate aftermath of the most tragic event in the country's history.

    Maybe I'm misreading you, but are you saying that Japan did nothing to provoke such attacks. It was overkill sure but not unprovoked.

    @SolidSCB
    Yeah, but I was hoping for someone to say something about Japan's part in the war.

    I meant in-game and more along the lines of the mass killings around east asia during the war but forget it, I'm probably digging too deep for a video game.

    Isn't mgs a Game built in Japan? Not sure but if it is I can't imagine they would ever in a million years out into a video game that it was thier own fault they were nuked it just isn't done.

    Looks like the separate versions of MGS HD are up for Vita, 11.99 each, no cross-play with PS3. Will be picking up just MGS3 then as I've never played it!

    MGS3 is something special, way more than the sum of it's parts.
