If you have a smartphone with WiFi hotspot capability, you can just change the name of your hotspot to _The Cloud and connect your 3DS to your 3G/4G connection to get the limited edition items. Worked for me to get the Raccoon Clock and Shaved Ice. You should delete your standard WiFi connection to do this though, or the 3DS will connect to that one instead. You can then add it back after you got the item ;) If your connection to your phone is succesful, the Nintendo Zone icon will start flashing in your home screen.

Just tried for the guitar but didn't work, IIRC that one isn't released until early september over here.

This is the proper list of EU DLC.

Changed my mobile connection to _The Cloud and was able to get the White Police Cap. Bit crap, but can't complain about free items. Cheers for the tip!

@YenRug Yea, I can see we can do it, just don't think we should have to fake SSID to do get things, I mean obviously they don't want us to, so it's general frustration at making content only available to certain regions in the first place.
I think it's a good idea personally. It means they can tailor the game to each region more specifically - making it more relevant but quite different for everyone.

I mean, who really wants the yanks' 7-11 DLC? I haven't seen one of those in the UK since the end of the last century!

Am certainly not going to mess about with my WiFi settings on which 1 PC, 1 Laptop, 2 iPhones, a 360 (with DMZ) and my 3DS rely on, just to get a free item for a game. Besides, I got the Shaved Ice Machine from the lady in the Post Office and bought the Raccoon Clock yesterday via the HHA so it's all good.

I tried '_The Cloud' thing just now with growing expectation of receiving a double necked guitar only to be bitterly disappointed with getting a white police cap. I was so disappointed, I complained to Pelly only to be told to go fuck myself.

The store also upgraded to T.I.Y., incorporating the flower shop. Still no axes in stock though. Bugger.

As an added bonus, I discovered K.K. Slider is now selling his songs in T.I.Y. The big fucking sell-out. I thought he was all about 'Hey man, I just want my songs to be free'!

Worst day in Animal Crossing so far. 1/10.

These things can be cat and bought, so technically only one person needed to do this to share with everyone:)

So I have a question; I just paid for my first floor expansion, and now I get the option of adding another room on the first floor, or enlarging the existing one.

So my question is, is this an either/or situation, or will I eventually be able to do both?

Both, eventually you can have 6 full sized rooms over 3 floors.

Yours for about 7 million bells!

That'd be great, thanks. I have Electric, Metal, Rock and Folk Guitars you can catalogue if you don't already have them. Can't help with the double neck guitar. See you about 9
Yes please to cataloguing any musical instruments you may have around. I'll be able to come over in about 10 minutes or so.

I didn't think i'd bother too much with the Dream Suite, but i'm having a fun time nosing at other peoples creations. I'm liking how the time of day and the season is captured with your latest update. I also like how you're paid 5000 bells each time you update it. The only downside is that it almost makes me want to start all over again with a fresh town layout.

DFawkes, I think you've got to update your town actually. I think you only had 7 villagers the last time I checked!

@Dodgymat Cheers for the musical instrument cataloguing and guided tour of your town. It's terrific. Made up for all the earlier AC disappointments.

I forgot to bf you before I left. I tried to come back but you'd closed your gates. Next time. I'm pretty jealous of all your Streetpass acquired stuff. I'm nowhere near a complete set of anything.

Oh, and cheers for the axe, my town badly needs a trim.

No worries, thanks for helping me complete my Fossil collection. Will be in touch if I manage to source that Silver Axe you're longing for - although by the sounds of it you might need several! ;)

Yeah, I have at least a dozen instruments, probably even more on the catalogue. Biwa lute, harp, harpsichord, pipe organ, electric guitar, rock guitar, metal guitar, ebony piano, upright piano, djeme drum, congo drum, sitar, violin, cello, and probably a couple more I'm forgetting.

@AcidSnake Yeah, my perfect pear sapling has done the same! Lucky I still have a couple more to plant.

It's chucking it down in my town this morning. Proper thunder and lightning stuff! On a related note, if it rains, do I still need to water wilting/brown flowers?

My wife had a shock on visiting the island last night. Seems my 5 year old daughter has cut down most of the trees.

I've got 150 if that's any good? Might be too early to go for that, I reckon you could get better if you hold your nerve.

I'm also on the look out for a Varia Suit top. Not sure what I could trade for it because I ran out of room and sold all my Nintendo stuff, but I'm sure we could arrange something if anyone has one :)

163 for turnips, but I've peaked on the small spike so won't be going any higher. Gates open from 8 if people aren't holding out for a higher spike from someone else.

Funny you should say that... My youngest son gave me a reproachful look yesterday:
"Daddy, did you cut down all the banana trees on the island"
    (worried)
"Yes. I thought they'd grow back."
"They didn't. Why did you do that?"
    (more worried / feeling guilty)
"Don't worry about it. They'll be back tomorrow"
    (mild panic)

When he went to bed me wife told me I could replant them by doing tours and getting the corresponding fruits (phew, saved!)

The reason for cutting them down was actually reading only half of what Zomoniac had written some pages before for getting lots of bells quickly... (greed  )
